Description

Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Department: Procurement

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Houston, TX

Who We Are

Persona AI is building humanoid robots for the most demanding environments in heavy industry — shipyards, steel mills, fabrication facilities, and offshore platforms — performing welding, grinding, maintenance, inspection, and material-handling work that is dangerous, physically demanding, and increasingly difficult to staff.

We are backed by leading strategic and financial investors and engaged with global industrial leaders across Korea, Japan, the United States, and Singapore. Korea is the center of gravity for our early commercial strategy, anchored by relationships with the world’s leading shipbuilders and steelmakers. Our work spans both the robot platform itself and the systems, partners, and playbooks required to deploy it at scale.

Why Join Persona AI?

  • We offer competitive compensation, a performance-based bonus, 99% employer covered medical benefits, early-stage equity, competitive PTO, and a company-wide paid winter break between December 24th and January 2nd.

  • You’ll shape technology that’s redefining the possibilities of robotics and human interaction.

  • Work alongside passionate teammates who value creativity, and continuous learning.

About the Role

Persona AI is building a rugged humanoid platform to supplement the industrial skilled-labor workforce. Building and testing these robots depends on a steady, accurate flow of parts, components, tools, and equipment into and out of our Houston facility.

We are looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to own that flow. You will receive and inspect incoming materials, keep inventory accurate, and prepare outbound shipments — including robots, prototypes, and spare parts headed to customers and partners in the United States and abroad. Your work keeps our engineering and build teams moving and makes sure what we ship arrives safely and on time.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips, and inspect for damage or discrepancies

  • Log received items in our inventory or ERP system and route them promptly to the right engineering, build, or test team

  • Pick, pack, crate, and label outbound shipments, including high-value robot assemblies, prototypes, and spare parts

  • Prepare shipping documentation such as bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and export paperwork for international shipments

  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers; track shipments and resolve delays or damage claims

  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and organized storage of parts and materials

  • Work with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to flag shortages, backorders, and incorrect deliveries

  • Handle and store hazardous materials (e.g., lithium-ion batteries, compressed gases, chemicals) in line with safety and regulatory requirements

  • Keep the receiving dock and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe

  • Help build and improve shipping and receiving processes as the company scales

What We Are Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics roles, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, or a technical environment

  • Experience with inventory management or ERP systems and standard office tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets)

  • Working knowledge of carrier platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL) and freight / LTL shipping

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when counting, labeling, and documenting materials

  • Clear communication skills and comfort coordinating with engineers, vendors, and carriers

  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a fast-moving, early-stage environment

  • Forklift and pallet jack experience, or willingness to obtain certification

  • Authorization to work in the United States

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly, with assistance or equipment for heavier items

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods

  • Work takes place in a warehouse and robotics lab setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures

  • Use of required PPE (e.g., safety shoes, safety glasses) in designated areas

  • Occasional overtime or flexible hours may be needed to meet shipping deadlines

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with international shipping, export compliance, and customs documentation (e.g., HTS codes, EEI filings)

  • DOT/IATA hazardous materials shipping certification, especially for lithium batteries

  • Experience crating or shipping large, heavy, or high-value equipment

  • Exposure to robotics, aerospace, automotive, or hardware startup environments

  • Bilingual English/Korean or English/Japanese

Persona AI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
