Description

About the Role

In high-stakes environments, safety and reliability are absolute. As our Senior Safety Engineer, you will embed these principles into the core of our autonomous ground systems. You will pioneer the engineering practices that ensure our products are safe, dependable, and maintainable from the first design sketch to final deployment in the field.

Working across systems, hardware, and software teams, you’ll be the central node for identifying risks and building resilience into every layer of our technology. Your expertise will directly shape the trustworthiness of our systems, ensuring that security and military forces can depend on them when it matters most.

What You’ll Build

  • Shape the safety and reliability engineering function for our core system development programs.
  • Conduct rigorous safety and reliability analyses (e.g., FMEA, FTA) to fortify our designs.
  • Define and trace critical safety requirements throughout the entire system architecture.
  • Drive structured safety and reliability reviews that actively improve system design and integrity.
  • Identify potential failure modes and create robust mitigation strategies to minimize operational risk.
  • Use performance data and field reports to conduct data-driven analyses that continuously enhance system safety.
  • Develop forward-thinking maintenance strategies and support concepts to maximize the operational life of our systems.
  • Drive root cause investigations and implement corrective actions that reinforce long-term system integrity.

What You Bring

  • A strong background in Safety Engineering, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Several years of hands-on experience in safety and reliability engineering for complex products.
  • Direct experience applying methods like FMEA or FTA to real-world, intricate systems.
  • A proven track record working with safety-critical or mission-critical systems where failure is not an option.
  • Deep familiarity with relevant safety standards (like ISO 12100, MIL-STD-882E, or IEC 61508) and how to apply them effectively.
  • A mindset that pairs sharp analytical thinking with practical problem-solving to not just find risks, but drive solutions.
  • A collaborative spirit that helps you align technical teams and move complex programs forward.
  • The ability to communicate and document complex safety concepts with clarity and precision.

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
