About the Role
This is your opportunity to shape the safety and reliability of next-generation autonomous systems. As a Senior Test Design Engineer at ARX Robotics, you will be at the heart of our verification and validation efforts, ensuring the robotic platforms we build are robust, safe, and ready for real-world challenges.
You will join a team dedicated to excellence, where your work directly contributes to our mission of enhancing security and operational effectiveness for our partners. This role is for you if you are driven by technical rigor and motivated by the challenge of certifying cutting-edge technology in a safety-critical domain.
What You’ll Build
- You will develop the master plans that guide how we test and validate our autonomous robotic systems.
- You will shape test strategies for our platforms, translating complex system requirements into clear, verifiable objectives.
- You will design and write robust test cases for critical functions, from autonomous navigation and obstacle detection to fail-safe behaviors.
- You will create sophisticated test scenarios using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) environments.
- You will drive the verification and validation efforts that lead to successful product certification for military and European standards.
- You will build the essential evidence packages that demonstrate the safety and reliability of our systems to certification authorities.
- You will produce clear, comprehensive test documentation that serves as the foundation for our safety and quality arguments.
- You will collaborate across engineering teams to integrate testing deeply into our design and development lifecycle.
What You Bring
- A strong background (5+ years) in test engineering, V&V, or system safety, ideally from a regulated industry like defense, aerospace, or automotive.
- An academic foundation in systems engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Experience guiding products through formal certification or military acceptance processes.
- A talent for creating clear, effective, and unambiguous test cases from complex requirements.
- Proficiency with requirements and traceability tools (such as DOORS, Polarion, or Jama Connect).
- Experience testing embedded systems, ideally using HIL/SIL setups.
- Familiarity with key safety standards (like MIL-STD-882E or the EU Machinery Regulation).
- An interest in autonomous systems, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), or robotics platforms.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
