ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an Entrepreneur in Residence to work directly with our CTO and own one of the highest-leverage, least-defined problems in the company. This is not a strategy-deck or project-management role — you'll take real ownership of a domain and move its number.
Our CTO has more high-leverage opportunities than there are hours in the day: strategic customers, product bets, internal engineering, and AI. You'll anchor on the one that moves a number now — today that's customer integration and solution engineering — and earn the others as you prove ownership.
Think of it as a launchpad: an accelerated path to a senior leadership seat, or to founding your own company. We're headquartered in Munich, with roots in San Francisco through Y Combinator.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead strategic customer initiatives: Own our most important customer engagements end-to-end — join the conversations and escalations, run real discovery, and act as the CTO's trusted proxy in high-stakes technical moments. When the same need shows up across customers, turn it into roadmap.
Drive product & technical discovery: Turn fuzzy hypotheses into crisp specs and quick prototypes. Run build-vs-buy-vs-integrate evaluations and research-heavy deep dives, and bring back clear go/no-go recommendations.
Make our engineers faster: Treat internal tooling and access as a product, with engineers as the customers. Kill onboarding and permissions friction, build "golden paths," and stand up self-serve infrastructure so the right way is the easy way.
Lead our AI adoption: Be the engine behind how Finto adopts AI to get better and faster — our internal "Customer Zero." Run it as real behavioral change, not a tool rollout: pilot, measure, train on real workflows, build champions, and put sensible guardrails in place.
Own the ambiguous: No two weeks look the same. One week you're scoping a customer's ERP integration, the next you're unblocking the engineering team or running an AI pilot.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Founder/operator DNA — you've built things from zero, owned outcomes (not recommendations), and thrive in ambiguity with a strong bias to action.
Genuinely technical — you read architecture, ship prototypes, and have real fluency with modern AI/LLM tooling (you use it, you don't just talk about it). You're comfortable around a Node.js/TypeScript backend and integration-heavy systems.
You influence without authority and communicate with brevity — you can turn a messy problem into a one-page decision for a time-starved executive.
Experience at startup speed — as a founder, founding/early engineer, forward-deployed engineer, or in a Founder's Office / Chief of Staff / strategic-initiatives role.
Strong communicator in German and English, comfortable working directly with founders in a high-speed environment.
Genuinely ambitious: you care about what you're building and want to grow into more responsibility over time.
