About the Role
This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage AI fintech company building automation tools for private market operations, including fund accounting, reconciliation, and reporting. You will work side by side with the founding team and customers to shape the product roadmap, write production code, and help attract exceptional talent. The role carries maximum ownership and a clear path to engineering leadership.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain core platform capabilities, including data capture from inboxes and web portals, transaction reconciliation, and journal entry generation for existing ERPs.
Design and operate LLM-powered and agentic workflows tailored to high-stakes private market operations.
Work directly with early customers and design partners to gather requirements, prioritise features, and communicate trade-offs.
Contribute to product roadmap decisions and help define the technical direction of the company.
Own work across the full product lifecycle, from backend services and APIs to end-to-end shipped features.
What We're Looking For
1 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong computer science and engineering fundamentals.
Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
Hands-on experience building, integrating, or operating large language models and agentic or autonomous systems in production.
Domain knowledge in private markets fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury workflows.
Experience building or maintaining AI-native operations infrastructure, such as systems for accounting, reporting, or treasury.
Full-product-lifecycle capability, comfortable working across backend and other layers rather than in a narrowly scoped role.
A shipped product, research project, side project, or open-source contribution that demonstrates independent builder instincts.
Experience working directly with customers or design partners to shape requirements and roadmap priorities.
Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin, Germany, and eligible to work in Germany.
Nice to have: prior experience at a high-growth startup, or a founding engineer, co-founder, or entrepreneur-in-residence background.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: 70,000 to 110,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship is available for candidates eligible to work in Germany.
Location
On-site in Berlin, Germany.
