Position:
Corvaya is seeking a highly motivated, creative and collaborative Research Associate/Senior Research Associate in Cell Biology and Immunology to join our growing team. You will be making critical contributions to the company’s success by interrogating cellular and molecular mechanisms as they relate to Corvaya’s goal of addressing allergic diseases. The candidate’s primary role will be lab based and include a range of cellular, molecular and biochemical assays to support drug discovery efforts. The successful candidate will be an accomplished scientist with demonstrated communication and organizational skills who can work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute flow cytometry assays on cell lines and primary cells, to measure surface protein abundance
- Execute enzymatic assays with protein and peptide substrates
- Utilize ELISA/MSD and Western Blot to assess protein abundance from serum and in vitro assays
- Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols and data
- Communicate results with a multidisciplinary team
- Generate, process, interpret and present data
- Establish and maintain protein inventories, and manage logistics for shipping to collaborators
- This position will be in-person at our Cambridge, MA location, five days a week
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology with 1-5 years industry experience
- Hands-on experience using ELISA/MSD and WB to measure soluble protein abundance, including in complex matrices like serum
- Experience using flow cytometry to measure cell surface proteins on immune cells; primary cell experience preferred
- Experience maintaining human cell lines and performing cell-based assays
- Experience with ELN documentation; protein registries experience preferred. Experience with standard software analytical tools such as Excel and Prism
