Your Impact at LILA
Lila is building a supply chain function, and this is the first hire into it. You will shape the discipline rather than inherit it, owning what happens to an order after it is placed: confirmation, delivery, install and commissioning.
With many active suppliers and a wide set of research and operating groups, deciding which categories earn a demand plan first, and being able to validate that choice, is a central part of the work.
You will work alongside the Procurement team, Category Managers and the Procurement Specialist, so that the supplier relationship, the order and the delivery picture become one end-to-end view rather than three separate ones.
What You'll Be Building
- Build an order tracking system from placement through install and commissioning, designed to migrate into a future ERP.
- Lead and coordinate the supply chain ERP proposal process.
- Own the long-lead item list and make lead times the business can plan around.
- Work down aging open orders and give Finance a clean view of supply commitments.
- Prioritize which categories earn a demand plan and build consumption-based demand signals.
- Size blanket orders to planned build activity and stand up a parts-on-hand model with FP&A.
- Run the delivery and capacity cadence with strategic partners, escalating when dates move.
- Partner with Procurement, Facilities, Lab Operations and Hardware & Controls on receiving and install readiness.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Three to six years in supply chain, demand or materials planning, or order management.
- Track record of owning delivery dates end to end.
- Judgement to prioritize what gets planned, and to defend that order.
- Strong spreadsheet and data skills, translating transactional data into a supply chain view.
- Experience coordinating across suppliers, freight and internal receiving.
- Comfortable with shifting priorities in an early-stage function.
- Comfort building from nothing, starting simple rather than perfect.
Bonus Points For
- Smartsheet or comparable workflow tools.
- Capital equipment installation and commissioning coordination.
- Scientific instruments, lab consumables or another regulated environment.
- ERP planning module implementation such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or Dynamics.
- Exposure to import, customs or export control.
