Why Harvey

At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.

This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. With 1500+ customers in 60+ countries, strong product-market fit, and world-class investor support, we’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.

Our team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.

At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.

Role Overview

Harvey is building the infrastructure foundation behind one of the most ambitious AI product companies in the world. Our Core Infrastructure team powers every user interaction across Harvey’s legal AI platform, which already processes billions of prompt tokens and millions of daily requests for leading law firms, enterprises, and other high-stakes customers.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead Core Infrastructure from Bengaluru as we scale the platform, the team, and the next generation of Harvey products. This is a high-leverage role for a builder-leader who can grow strong engineers, drive technical execution, and raise the bar on reliability, performance, security, and developer velocity.

This is not a pure operations role. Core Infrastructure at Harvey is responsible for building new systems as well as hardening existing ones, with an emphasis on architecture, scale, and long-term platform leverage rather than reactive firefighting alone.

Harvey is in a build era, not a maintenance era. New product surfaces ship rapidly, and India engineering is expected to play a foundational role in shaping the architecture, culture, and roadmap of Harvey’s next decade.

At Harvey, we value Decisiveness, Simplicity, and the mindset that Job's Not Finished. We move fast, prioritize clarity, and are always striving for excellence. If this resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you.

Why This Role Matters:

Core Infrastructure exists to “deliver core infrastructure that powers our products and teams,” and its current mission is operational excellence at scale. The team serves two critical user groups: external customers who need Harvey to be as reliable as the tools it replaces, and internal product engineering teams who need infrastructure they can build on without firefighting.

The systems this team owns are directly tied to Harvey’s next wave of growth, including agent infrastructure, database resilience, site reliability, vector search, job execution, regional data residency, and multi-cloud scale.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead, hire, and develop a high-agency infrastructure team in Bengaluru, creating a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and strong mentorship.

  • Own delivery for core infrastructure investments spanning cloud infrastructure, observability, container orchestration, reliability, and platform foundations.

  • Partner closely with Product Engineering, Security, and adjacent platform teams so infrastructure accelerates product delivery instead of constraining it.

  • Guide technical strategy across multi-cloud infrastructure, including Azure- and GCP-based systems, Kubernetes orchestration, networking, container management, and infrastructure as code.

  • Drive operational excellence through better observability, incident response, disaster recovery, runbooks, alerting, and recovery tooling.

  • Help the organization scale safely by improving system design quality, hardening critical paths, and pushing durable solutions to reliability bottlenecks before they become customer-facing failures.

  • Partner with AI and product teams to support Harvey’s next major product surfaces, including agent workflows, model infrastructure, and large-scale document processing systems.

  • Contribute as a hands-on technical leader when needed, especially in architecture reviews, incident leadership, prioritization, and high-stakes cross-functional programs.

Representative Problems You May Lead:

  • Hardening the Agent Platform so product teams can ship AI agent experiences with resource isolation, authenticated sandbox access, and resilient execution.

  • Improving database resilience and recovery so incidents are mitigated quickly and the main database never becomes the bottleneck during critical events.

  • Raising site reliability through stronger alerting, failover strategy, autoscaling, and runbooks so customers are never the first to know Harvey is degraded.

  • Scaling vector and retrieval infrastructure that underpins document-heavy workflows and enterprise search, including migrations that improve reliability and unlock new capabilities.

  • Building a multi-region, enterprise-grade platform that meets strict data residency, security, and uptime expectations for global customers.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years of engineering management experience and 10+ years of hands-on infrastructure or platform engineering experience in production environments.

  • Deep technical strength across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform or Pulumi.

  • A track record of designing and scaling reliable distributed systems, with strong judgment around performance, fault tolerance, and operational tradeoffs.

  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and translating ambiguous platform needs into clear execution plans and measurable outcomes.

  • Strong people leadership: hiring well, coaching engineers, creating accountability, and building a healthy, high-performing team culture.

  • Clear communication and calm execution during incidents, escalations, and high-stakes customer-impacting situations.

  • A systems mindset, bias for simplicity, and the ability to raise standards while keeping teams moving fast.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, high-throughput inference systems, or model platform reliability.

  • Experience operating multi-tenant, security-sensitive platforms for enterprise or regulated customers.

  • Familiarity with Azure at scale; GCP or AWS experience also transfers well.

  • Experience supporting global, follow-the-sun operations or building teams across regions.

Additional Information

  • Work eligibility: Must be authorized to work in India. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
