About the Role
This is the first engineering hire at an early-stage B2B SaaS company building an agentic integration platform used by paying enterprise customers. You will own core systems end-to-end and set the engineering patterns that every future hire will build on, working directly alongside the founders.
What You'll Do
Own the agent platform, infrastructure, and integrations runtime end-to-end.
Define and establish engineering patterns and standards that the growing team will build on.
Collaborate directly with the founders, contributing technical opinion and leadership, not just code.
Ship reliable, observable production systems consistently and at pace.
What We're Looking For
3 to 9 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably at early-stage startups or with a strong track record of 0-to-1 building.
Proficiency in TypeScript and React for frontend development.
Proficiency in Node.js for backend development.
Experience integrating or building workflows around large language models (LLMs) and agent-based platforms.
Experience with AWS for cloud infrastructure and PostgreSQL for data storage and database design.
Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end feature development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure with measurable customer impact.
Experience implementing observability, monitoring, tracing, and reliable retry and queuing patterns in distributed systems.
A broad software engineering background rather than a narrow ML research or single-domain specialisation.
Strong academic foundation in computer science or engineering, or comparably strong demonstrated achievement.
Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area for on-site work.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $150,000 to $250,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site, five days a week in San Francisco, California, United States. Candidates must be based locally or have a concrete relocation plan.
