Founding Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding infrastructure role at an early-stage AI infrastructure company building an enterprise context layer that makes AI agents reliable, accurate, and secure for critical business operations. You will design and build the cloud infrastructure from scratch, making architectural decisions that will shape the product and company for years to come. There is no existing system to maintain; you are creating it.

What You'll Do

• Design and build cloud infrastructure from the ground up to power a semantic, ontology-driven enterprise platform.

• Own the full infrastructure lifecycle, from initial architecture through production deployment and scaling.

• Architect and manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration in production environments.

• Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.

• Design and deploy database infrastructure spanning relational and NoSQL systems at scale.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation systems.

• Establish infrastructure security, networking, and access control practices from scratch.

• Implement monitoring, observability, and logging systems across the stack.

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 12 years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure in production environments.

• Proven experience with Kubernetes or equivalent container orchestration platforms in production.

• Strong hands-on background with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure, including networking, storage, compute, and managed services.

• Experience designing and deploying infrastructure-as-code solutions.

• Solid background in database infrastructure, including both relational and NoSQL systems.

• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus, Datadog, or the ELK stack.

• Demonstrated ability to build from scratch in a startup or high-growth environment, rather than a background limited to large enterprises or consulting.

• Stable employment history with a track record of sustained ownership and impact.

• Bonus: experience with data pipelines, knowledge graphs, graph databases, semantic systems, or ML/AI platform infrastructure.
