Software Engineer

About the Role

This is a hands-on individual contributor role at an early-stage startup in the supply chain connectivity space, sitting at the intersection of AI agent development and core infrastructure engineering. You will be among the first engineers on the team, owning foundational systems end-to-end and setting the technical direction that shapes the product and team for years to come.

What You'll Do

• Design and build purpose-specific AI coding agents from scratch for supply chain connectivity use cases.

• Develop and maintain core infrastructure for hosting and running integrations, similar in spirit to a lightweight platform-as-a-service runtime.

• Own systems end-to-end, from the agent platform through to the integrations runtime, making foundational architectural decisions.

• Establish engineering patterns and practices that will define how the team builds going forward.

• Work across both the agentic and infrastructure sides of the product, contributing wherever the company needs to move fastest.

What We're Looking For

• 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and owning complex products end-to-end.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern full-stack development.

• Hands-on experience building with AI agents and LLMs using current patterns and tooling.

• At least one tenure at a VC-backed startup (seed through Series B), with a genuine drive to build as an early employee rather than at a large, established company.

• A background that demonstrates a high bar for engineering craft, such as founding a startup, being a founding engineer, or building 0-to-1 at a fast-growing company.

• Strong CS or engineering fundamentals, ideally from a rigorous academic background.

• High agency, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to build with minimal direction.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $150,000 to $300,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site, five days a week in San Francisco, California, USA. Candidates based elsewhere in the US are welcome to apply with a concrete relocation plan to San Francisco.
