Industrial Pipefitter - Memphis

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an Industrial Pipefitter to support the buildout of SpaceXAI's high-performance data centers. In this hands-on role, you will install large industrial piping systems and keep construction moving on our next-generation AI supercomputing infrastructure.

You will work closely with mechanical, welding, structural, electrical, and operations teams to fit, hang, and test pipe from construction through turnover. This is a full-time, onsite role with significant travel to SpaceXAI data center sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install large-bore industrial piping (process, mechanical, utility, and related systems): measure, cut, bevel, fit, hang, and make up joints per drawings and specs.
• Perform flange, groove, thread, and welded-joint fit-up; align pipe, set gaps, and prep joints for the welding crew.
• Install valves, fittings, hangers, supports, strut, and anchors; hang pipe racks and supports plumb and on grade.
• Read isometric, spool, and arrangement drawings; field-route as directed and flag drawing conflicts before install.
• Support hydro, pneumatic, and service tests: install blinds and test packs, walk lines, and repair leaks.
• Stage, move, and inventory pipe, valves, hangers, insulation, tools, and equipment; keep laydown yards and mechanical rooms orderly.
• Assist with equipment set for pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, and related mechanical gear, including bolt-up of suction and discharge piping.
• Open and close work areas: protection, debris removal, scrap segregation, and end-of-shift reset so the next crew can start immediately.
• Follow LOTO, PPE, and permit rules; do not work on live systems without authorization.
• Report damaged material, unsafe conditions, and drawing conflicts immediately.
• Support punch-list work and cleanup through system turnover.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years installing large industrial or commercial piping OR completion of a recognized pipefitter apprenticeship, OR equivalent military experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience fitting and installing welded, flanged, grooved, and/or threaded pipe, including hangers and supports.
• Willingness to work at heights, outdoors, and on a changing data center construction site.
• Ability to use pipefitting hand tools, power tools, bevelers, and material-handling equipment safely.
• Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow site procedures, including LOTO and permits.
• Willingness to work extended hours, nights, and weekends during critical construction windows.
• Prior experience on data center, industrial, or heavy-civil construction sites.
• Experience on large-bore welded industrial piping (carbon and/or stainless) and equipment connections (pumps, air handlers, cooling towers, skids).
• Ability to read isometric, spool, and P&ID drawings.
• UA, NCCER, or equivalent pipefitter credential.
• OSHA 10 or equivalent training.
• Familiarity with hot-work, hydrotest, and flange-management practices.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to travel extensively to SpaceXAI data center construction sites and remain onsite during peak construction phases.
• Capability to work in industrial environments, climb ladders, lift and position moderate loads, stand and walk for a full shift, and wear PPE for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
