About the Role
We are looking for a Cloud / DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate the cloud infrastructure powering a growing AI platform. You will sit at the intersection of engineering and ML teams, taking end-to-end ownership of Azure infrastructure, automation, Kubernetes, CI/CD, security, and reliability.
What You'll Do
Design and operate secure, scalable, and highly available Azure cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, identity, and platform services.
Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform or Bicep, with a focus on automation, consistency, and repeatable deployments.
Deploy and operate Docker and Kubernetes/AKS environments, including scaling, networking, upgrades, security, and production troubleshooting.
Design and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools to enable reliable software delivery.
Establish strong security, observability, and reliability practices covering IAM, secrets management, monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery.
Partner with engineering and ML teams to support AI/ML workloads and optimise cloud performance and cost.
Own infrastructure initiatives end-to-end and contribute to architecture decisions and incident response.
What We're Looking For
4 or more years of hands-on experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or a related field.
Strong production experience with Microsoft Azure, including architecture, networking, identity, security, and operations.
Hands-on production experience with Terraform or Bicep and a solid Infrastructure as Code mindset.
Production experience deploying and operating Docker and Kubernetes/AKS clusters.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms.
Background at a large technology or enterprise organization, with demonstrated end-to-end ownership of cloud infrastructure rather than a purely operational scope.
Strong understanding of cloud security practices including IAM and secrets management.
Solid Linux administration and scripting skills in Bash, Python, or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting tooling.
Comfort operating with ambiguity and high ownership at startup pace.
Familiarity with AI/ML or GPU-based cloud workloads is a plus.
Experience with GitOps, Helm, Argo CD, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry is a plus.
Exposure to AWS or Google Cloud alongside Azure is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: €75,000 to €95,000 annually.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Location
Primary location is Munich, Germany, with a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates based elsewhere in Germany and working remotely are also considered.
