We are looking for a highly experienced and visionary Lead Golang Engineer to spearhead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Golang, distributed systems, and microservices, along with proven leadership skills. You will lead a team of engineers, influence strategic technical decisions, and contribute to the success of key initiatives.
Location. This role is office-based at our Trivandrum, Kerala office.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Lead the design and development of complex, high-performance backend services using Golang.
- Define system architecture and best practices for scalable, secure, and maintainable code.
- Mentor and guide a team of backend engineers, conducting code reviews and promoting engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to align engineering goals with business objectives.
- Drive DevOps best practices including CI/CD, observability, and incident management.
- Proactively identify technical risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Stay current with industry trends and apply new technologies to improve system performance and developer productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of software development experience, with at least 5+ years of hands-on Golang development.
- Proven track record in building large-scale, distributed backend systems.
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Deep understanding of concurrency, performance optimization, and systems design.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience in leading geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Contributions to open-source Golang projects or community initiatives.
