Description

About the Role

We are actively looking for a Staff Robotics Data Engineer for our Data & Simulation team in Munich. This is more than a data role; you are the architect of the central nervous system for our autonomous robots. You will build the critical data infrastructure that turns raw information from our robotic fleet into the clear, reliable engineering insights we need to innovate with speed and confidence.

Your work provides the foundation for our entire development loop. By setting the technical vision and owning the pipelines that process data from real-world operations, simulations, and automated testing, you will empower our engineering teams to consistently and quickly determine how our systems behave and how to make them better.

What You’ll Build

  • A unified technical vision and architecture for data systems that connect fleet operations, telemetry, and automated validation.
  • Scalable, multi-stage pipelines that transform raw robotics data—from sensors, logs, and simulations—into synchronized, enriched, and analysis-ready datasets.
  • The core standards for data quality, schemas, and lineage that ensure every engineering decision is built on a foundation of trust.
  • A sophisticated metrics engine that translates complex system requirements into computable, automated validation rules for time-series and event-based data.
  • Reusable frameworks that enable teams to evaluate system performance and detect violations across countless vehicles, software versions, and test campaigns.
  • The data backbone that fuels our advanced autonomy, simulation, and machine learning workflows.
  • A culture of data excellence by establishing best practices and mentoring other engineers.

What You Bring

  • Significant experience building and operating data-intensive software systems or platforms.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with a passion for writing clean, scalable code.
  • Experience working with large-scale, complex data, such as time-series, telemetry, or sensor data.
  • A background in designing multi-stage data pipelines with a sharp focus on quality, synchronization, and reproducibility.
  • The ability to translate abstract system requirements into concrete metrics and validation rules.
  • A solid grasp of the unique challenges of robotics data, including timestamps, sampling, coordinate frames, and event correlation.
  • Experience with distributed or cloud-based data processing systems.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work with teams across robotics, autonomy, systems, and platform engineering.
  • Professional fluency in English.

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.

What We Offer

Join a mission-driven European defense tech company at a pivotal stage of growth, where you can help shape meaningful technology, take ownership early, and grow with the business!

  • Competitive compensation package including a bonus opportunity
