Founding Electrical Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at a Y Combinator–backed wearable tech startup building a device that reads and analyzes real-time emotional states. You'll own all things electrical — from board design to production — and will help shape the hardware foundation of the product as the company scales. This is a high-ownership position with a direct path to leading the hardware engineering org.

What You'll Do

• Own the full electrical and PCB design for the wearable device end-to-end.

• Iterate rapidly on device hardware revisions in response to testing and user feedback.

• Drive consumer hardware from early prototype through to mass production.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in board/PCB design.

• A track record of shipping physical consumer electronics products.

• Strong background in embedded hardware and sensors.

• Experience in consumer electronics or wearable hardware is a strong plus.

• Background at a top-tier hardware company or consumer electronics manufacturer is a plus.

• Comfortable working at a fast pace in an early-stage environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $150,000 USD annually. Equity: Meaningful founding equity stake. Visa sponsorship: H-1B transfers are supported; new visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site in New York, NY, USA. San Francisco is also welcomed. This is not a remote role.
