At Komodo, we partner with organizations throughout the healthcare ecosystem to improve patient care and reduce disease burden through data-driven insights. As a member of the Data Product team, you’ll help us to build a best-in-class healthcare data architecture covering hundreds of millions of patients through tens of billions of transactions that provides the foundation of that mission. Our people are the center of our success. We are a smart, supportive team with diverse perspectives and a shared passion for fixing what’s broken in healthcare. It’s fun, challenging and important - and we’re looking for folks with a shared mindset to join our team.
We’re looking for a Senior Data Product manager to help drive the development and innovation of our core data products. In this role, you’ll work with engineers to drive our product strategy and execution on Komodo’s growing suite of data products. You’ll work with engineering leadership to help craft our technical strategy based on your deep understanding of our platform and customer needs. As a Data PM, you’ll work closely with our product principal and commercial teams to document use cases, create requirements, design evaluation criteria, and ensure on-time high-value analysis. You’ll own the day to day responsibilities for sprint management, and will ensure that the team is operating at high levels of efficiency. You’ll also work cross-functionally to ensure collaboration with teams throughout the organization, and will help to share knowledge throughout the company.
- Developed real fluency in our data through a customer lens
- Led discovery into a set of customer use cases and built an evidence-based point of view on where Komodo is uniquely positioned to win
- Shipped marked improvements to one or more core data products
- Identified, scoped, and validated at least one new data product opportunity or significant enhancement to an existing product
- Built a prioritized, evidence-backed backlog that the team and stakeholders trust
- Earned trust as a thought partner to Data Engineering and the commercial-facing team
- Experience in a data-focused role at a B2B technology or software company, with prior product management experience a strong plus
- Real technical depth, including the ability to write and understand SQL, reason about data models and pipelines, and engage substantively with engineers on tradeoffs rather than relaying messages between them and the business
- Working knowledge of the core concepts behind statistical data analysis, and the judgment to notice when they are being misapplied
- Experience with US healthcare data, and an understanding of the questions life sciences teams bring to it
- Curiosity about how data and systems are built and where they break, paired with the drive to go find the answer and comfort in not knowing something for a while
- A bias toward the simple version, with the patience to sit with an ambiguous problem and ask the question that reframes it rather than shipping the first workable answer
- The ability to break a conceptual goal into smaller, actionable pieces, with enough attention to detail to define what "done" and "good" mean before work starts
- A drive to understand our customers deeply, and to translate that understanding into requirements precise enough to build from
- Fluency with AI tools as part of how the work actually gets done, including exploring unfamiliar datasets, prototyping concepts, drafting and pressure-testing requirements, and challenging their own reasoning
