About the Role
At ARX Robotics, hardware isn't a support function—it's the foundation of everything we build. As a Mechanical Design Engineer on our R&D team, you will help drive the full design lifecycle, from early concepts and 3D models through to prototyping, testing, and production readiness. The systems you help build will be used by military forces and first responders across Europe.
This is a hands-on role where your engineering decisions carry real weight. You will contribute to architectural choices, participate in design reviews, and collaborate with a team that moves fast and values quality over bureaucracy.
What You’ll Build
- Robust mechanical assemblies and components, engineered from the ground up for strength, weight, and manufacturability.
- Detailed 3D models and 2D drawings that translate engineering intent into physical reality.
- Field-ready prototypes that go from a workbench to real-world conditions—tested, refined, and built to survive.
- Design documentation that ensures quality and seamless alignment with production standards (ISO, GD&T).
- Your own projects, driven from initiation through to completion with a high degree of autonomy.
What You Bring
- A solid foundation in mechanical engineering, with 2-3+ years of hands-on R&D experience.
- Fluency in 3D modeling, bringing ideas to life with tools like Inventor, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.
- A love for hands-on prototyping, with practical experience in 3D printing and other modern manufacturing processes.
- A strong grasp of mechanics, materials science, and engineering tolerances.
- The ability to prepare a complete and clear design documentation package for production teams.
- An R&D mindset, showing you’re comfortable with rapid iteration, uncertainty, and building things that don’t exist yet.
- Upper-Intermediate English, allowing you to collaborate effectively with international teams.
- A problem-solving approach that balances technical precision with pragmatic, fast-paced execution.
- Experience with electrical design (EPLAN) or embedded systems is a strong plus.
Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
