Position Summary
Overwatch Mission Critical is seeking an experienced and proactive Corporate Safety Manager to lead and support company-wide safety initiatives across mission critical construction and operations environments. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs that ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and Overwatch’s commitment to operational excellence and zero-incident performance.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive field safety experience in construction, mission critical/data center environments, or industrial operations, and has a passion for building a positive safety culture through accountability, training, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Management
-Develop, implement, and maintain corporate safety policies, procedures, and standards.
-Lead company-wide Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
-Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments across active job sites and corporate operations.
-Maintain and update safety manuals, training documentation, and incident reporting systems.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
-Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulations.
-Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and enforce project safety requirements.
-Manage and coordinate safety documentation including JHAs, AHAs, permits, SDS logs, and incident reports.
-Support internal and external safety audits and client safety reviews.
-Incident Prevention & Investigation
-Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
-Track and analyze safety metrics, trends, and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
-Develop proactive safety initiatives focused on hazard recognition and injury prevention.
Training & Leadership
-Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing employee safety training.
-Mentor field teams, project managers, and supervisors on safety expectations and best practices.
-Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous safety improvement throughout the organization.
-Collaborate with leadership to drive strategic safety goals and initiatives.
Project & Operational Support
-Travel to project sites as needed to support field operations and safety compliance.
-Participate in preconstruction planning meetings and project risk assessments.
-Assist project teams in developing site-specific safety plans and emergency response procedures.
Qualifications:
Required
-Minimum of 7 years of safety management experience in construction, mission critical/data center, industrial, or related environments.
-Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
-Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
-Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local safety regulations.
-Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety reporting/documentation platforms.
-Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred
-Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
-OSHA 30-hour certification (required/preferred depending on company policy).
-CHST, CSP, ASP, or other professional safety certifications preferred.
-Experience in mission critical/data center construction environments strongly preferred.
-CPR/First Aid certification.
