Senior JDA MMS / AS400 Consultant

About the Role

A well-established IT staffing and consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior JDA MMS / AS400 Consultant to support, enhance, and optimize the JDA Merchandise Management System (MMS) on the IBM i (AS400) platform for a leading retail organization. This is a long-term engagement with a prominent retail client, offering the opportunity to work across merchandising, supply chain, finance, and IT functions in a dynamic, large-scale environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide deep functional and technical expertise in JDA MMS — covering Items, Pricing, Promotions, Markdowns, Inventory, and Sales Audit modules.

• Support and optimize AS400/IBM i batch processing, troubleshoot system issues, and monitor platform performance.

• Lead system enhancements, configurations, and integrations with POS, E-commerce, WMS, and Reporting Platforms.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT teams for requirements gathering, testing, and production support.

• Ensure data integrity, auditability, and accuracy across merchandising and financial transactions.

• Drive troubleshooting efforts, manage upgrades, and provide ongoing production support in a large retail environment.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with JDA MMS on IBM i (AS400).

• 10–20 years of overall IT/system integration experience within retail or similar industries.

• Strong knowledge of Retail Merchandising processes.

• Proficiency in RPG/CL, SQL, Batch Jobs, and system integrations on IBM i.

• Proven ability to lead troubleshooting, upgrades, and production support in large retail environments.

• Hands-on experience with integrations across POS, E-commerce, WMS, and Reporting platforms.

• Experience with requirements gathering, testing, and production support in cross-functional team settings (Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, IT).

• Demonstrated commitment to data integrity, auditability, and accurate financial/merchandising transactions.

• Ability to be onsite in Phoenix, AZ three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Rate: $70–$75 per hour (W2)

• Engagement through W2 employment arrangement

Location

• Phoenix, AZ — Hybrid on-site (3 days/week: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)

• This is not a fully remote role; consistent onsite presence at the client location is required.
