Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Facilities Maintenance Assistant at SpaceXAI Memphis, you will support the upkeep of our supercomputing data center facilities by assisting with routine non-critical maintenance tasks. Under close supervision, you'll help with basic operations and limited maintenance on critical equipment, contributing to a reliable and efficient environment that powers our AI-driven mission. This entry-level role emphasizes hands-on learning, teamwork, and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in performing non-critical maintenance and repair work, including people door repairs, administrative area upkeep, building envelope maintenance, and/or landscaping
  • Under direct supervision of an operator, assist as required in the operation of critical equipment.
  • Assist in the performance of limited maintenance on offline critical equipment as directed, including: single chiller maintenance, single CDU filter changeouts, and/or leak detection verification in alarming racks
  • Support daily inspections of facilities areas to identify and report potential issues.
  • Help maintain spare parts inventory and assist with basic organization of tools and equipment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols during all tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
  • Provide support during scheduled system maintenance or minor repairs.
  • Assist in documenting work performed and any observed issues.
  • Participate in team training sessions and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (relevant experience or technical certification preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related hands-on role (data center experience is a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a data center or industrial facility setting.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC or electrical systems.
  • OSHA safety certification or equivalent.
