Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Systems Owner to lead end-to-end system definition and architectural integrity across advanced defence capabilities in the era of land of autonomy warfare. This is an accountable systems ownership role with full lifecycle responsibility across robotics systems. You will translate business development strategy, operational intent, and product roadmaps into coherent, traceable, and technically robust system baselines. You will ensure the complete V-Model is structurally followed, from stakeholder need and system architecture definition through integration, verification, validation, and operational feedback. This role operates at the intersection of product strategy, engineering delivery (HW and SW), and operational capability.

What You’ll Build

  • Translate operational capability goals into coherent system architectures, KPIs, and verifiable requirements across the full lifecycle
  • Define and govern functional, logical, and physical architectures, including interfaces across sensors, networks, software, and effectors
  • Lead systems engineering activities across ISR, counter-UAS, autonomy, and distributed battlefield systems within the V-Model framework
  • Manage subsystem dependencies, integration risks, and architectural trade-offs to reduce downstream delivery and integration issues
  • Support demonstrations, trials, and field exercises to ensure engineering decisions reflect operational realities and user needs

 What You Bring

  • Strong end-to-end systems engineering expertise, including V-Model lifecycle, requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification & validation
  • Proven experience owning complex system architectures and integrating hardware, software, communications, and networked systems
  • Hands-on experience with requirements and systems engineering tools such as IBM DOORS, Polarion, Systems Weaver, or Jama
  • Solid understanding of distributed and autonomy-enabled systems, network architectures, communications protocols, and integration sequencing
  • Technically rigorous and operationally minded, with the confidence to challenge decisions, work under programme pressure, and engage in field or military environments
  • Willingness to travel (UK and EU primarily) and work in operational or military environments during field trials and customer events
  • Excellent English skills are a must; German a plus
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required

Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
