About the role
We are looking for an exceptional HR Business Partner to support our rapidly growing go-to-market teams at Anthropic. This highly visible, cross-functional role will work closely with GTM leadership to help build the HR policies, programs, and strategies that enable our teams to do their best work — and to do it sustainably as we scale.
You'll serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to managers and employees alike, covering the full spectrum of HR topics from employee relations and performance management to immigration compliance and program design. You'll collaborate closely with our specialist People teams — Benefits, Compensation, People Infrastructure, Legal, and Finance — to ensure Anthropic's GTM organization has the support it needs.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders supporting GTM functions on HR-related topics, and help shape our human resources strategy as the company scales
- Support employees and managers on HR topics throughout their lifecycle at Anthropic, in close partnership with specialist People team functions (e.g., Benefits, Compensation)
- Partner with management to build a culture of high performance grounded in Anthropic's values, ensuring performance management and employee relations matters are handled in accordance with applicable law and best practice
- In collaboration with specialist teams, leadership, and finance, design and implement scalable programs and policies to attract, retain, and develop outstanding talent
- Partner with People Infrastructure, Legal, and Compliance to ensure the right operational foundations are in place across our offices
- Help maintain compliance with local employment law and best practices — including immigration and background check processes — working in consultation with employment counsel and specialist teams as appropriate
Minimum qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in HR, People Operations, Employee Relations, or a closely related function, with meaningful exposure to GTM or commercial teams
- Experience navigating HR and employment policies at a global company, including understanding of relevant legal and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion, sound judgment, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach
Preferred qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, Employee Relations, or a related field
- Background in a tech company, startup, or similarly fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Deep commitment to supporting a diverse range of people at all levels of an organization — you take the work of helping employees and managers do their best seriously
- Formal or substantive training in conflict resolution; skilled at providing confidential, practical guidance in difficult situations
- Strong working knowledge of HR best practices, with the ability to apply them thoughtfully across different cultural and organizational contexts
- A collaborative, pragmatic problem-solver who enjoys developing creative solutions and building new systems from scratch
- Energized by building and scaling processes at a company that's growing quickly — you see ambiguity as an opportunity, not an obstacle
- Genuine interest in the responsible development of advanced AI systems, and at minimum a basic curiosity about artificial intelligence and its potential applications
