Description

Company Overview

Rex is a privately held ecosystem of entrepreneurial ventures led by Peter Rex, spanning real estate private equity, technology, insurance, and AI. We build businesses and investment platforms that generate both exceptional financial returns and meaningful societal impact. At the core of our strategy is investor engagement: attracting aligned capital partners who share our long-term vision. We are building the most compelling investor-facing ecosystem in the private markets. The role offers exposure to a uniquely diverse platform; combining institutional-quality real estate and high-growth tech ventures, all aligned under a singular mission-driven vision.

About Us

Our mission is to catalyze human flourishing through stewardship, serving people in all nations. We seek a transcendent impact, second to none, crossing geographies and making a permanent mark on history.
We aim to uplift investors, foster flourishing families, create enduring trust, and contribute to a more beautiful world through our investments, products and services, and new ventures.
Our investments are primarily in real estate, with additional allocations to tech, energy, and alternatives, employing a downside-protected, long-term approach to investing. We are grounded in timeless morals and seek to preserve and grow both investor capital and our own.
We serve a diverse ecosystem that includes:
  • Multifamily apartment management with 20,000+ apartments
  • Hotel and office buildings
  • Tech ventures
  • Insurance companies
Our businesses, with over 500 employees, are primarily throughout Texas and Florida, but we aim to expand globally with our products and services, impacting people in all countries.

Mindset

Fanatical Investor Focus: Serve our investors by preserving their wealth first and foremost and secondarily seeking to maximize their return on equity while fostering human progress through stewardship of the assets and companies.
Ecosystem Alignment: Execute in a spirit of partnership across all components of the Rex ecosystem, including multifamily and other real estate assets as well as tech companies.
Missionary Zeal: Care about investor stewardship and advancing the vision of catalyzing human flourishing.

The Opportunity

Rex is seeking a Project Associate to join our Project Team, a small, high-leverage unit deployed against the highest-value opportunities across the Rex ecosystem. The first mandate is to launch and operate a Rex-branded serviced office and membership community in Uptown Dallas, the premier office submarket in DFW, where major financial institutions are building towers and a deep pool of high-income professionals lives, works, and plays. This is a long-term hold in a core location. We are not building commodity space. We are building a curated, mission-driven community of professionals who share deeply held values.

This role has three core mandates. First, own the launch end to end, from brand, pricing, and buildout to membership sales, programming, and daily operations. You drive the asset to cash breakeven and beyond against a clear scorecard of occupancy, members, revenue, retention, and NOI. Second, build scalable ancillary revenue, including virtual mailbox, package receiving, smart lockers, and on-demand meeting rooms and private offices. The playbook should be built to extend across a multifamily portfolio of tens of thousands of homes. Third, turn the community into a strategic network for Rex, cultivating future investors, partners, and talent. Once the first asset runs on autopilot, this operator moves to the next highest-value project, brings the playbook to new acquisitions, and teaches it to the team so the capability stays in-house permanently.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in serviced office, coworking, or flex workspace operations and knows the business cold: member acquisition, retention, pricing, and unit economics. They are a high-agency builder with a bias toward action and an obsession with the member experience. They think like an owner, not a caretaker, and translate every decision into revenue and NOI. They are commercially sharp and hospitality-minded, comfortable with ambiguity, and keep launching, testing, and iterating until the numbers work. They must be mobile and flexible, ready to follow the opportunity to future projects and markets.

The mission is non-negotiable: this operator must fully embrace Rex’s call to catalyze human flourishing through disciplined stewardship and community building.

Based in Dallas, on site through launch, with willingness to relocate for future projects.

About the Role

Rex is hiring a Project Associate to join the Project Team and turn the firm’s highest-value opportunities into operating businesses that produce cash flow. The first deployment is a Rex-branded serviced office and membership community in Uptown Dallas, a long-term hold in a core location with a mandate to reach cash breakeven fast and build durable NOI from there.

This role owns outcomes across launch, membership, operations, and ancillary revenue, ensuring speed, discipline, and accountability at every stage. You will operate as the connective tissue between brand, buildout partners, members, and Rex leadership, making decisions that ladder directly to occupancy, revenue, retention, and NOI, and reporting against a clear scorecard.

You will design and run the membership engine, from pricing and sales to onboarding, programming, and renewals, curating a community of high-caliber professionals who share Rex’s values. You will build ancillary products, including virtual mailbox, package receiving, smart lockers, and on-demand meeting rooms and private offices, as a repeatable playbook designed to extend across a multifamily portfolio of tens of thousands of homes. You will also turn the community into a strategic network for Rex, cultivating relationships with future investors, partners, and talent.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a builder who knows flex workspace economics cold and wants real ownership. Once the Uptown asset runs on autopilot, you will move to the next highest-value project, bring the playbook to new acquisitions, and teach it to the team so the capability stays in-house permanently. Must be missionary to the bone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end launch of Rex’s Uptown Dallas serviced office, including brand, positioning, pricing, buildout coordination, and opening readiness
  • Drive the asset to cash breakeven and beyond, with full accountability for occupancy, member count, revenue, retention, and NOI
  • Build and run the membership sales engine, including lead generation, tours, conversion, broker and corporate relationships, and pipeline tracking
  • Design pricing and product tiers across private offices, dedicated desks, memberships, and meeting space, testing and adjusting until the unit economics work
  • Curate a mission-aligned membership community, setting the standard for who joins and what the member experience feels like
  • Plan and run programming and events that drive engagement, retention, referrals, and a reputation as the premier professional community in Uptown
  • Run daily operations, including front of house, vendors, facilities, technology, access control, and member support, to hospitality-grade standards
  • Build and scale ancillary revenue lines, including virtual mailbox, package receiving, smart lockers, and on-demand meeting rooms and private offices
  • Document the ancillary revenue playbook so it can be deployed across Rex’s multifamily portfolio of tens of thousands of homes
  • Own the operating budget and reporting cadence, delivering weekly and monthly scorecards to leadership with clear diagnosis and next actions
  • Cultivate the member community as a strategic network for Rex, surfacing future investors, partners, and talent
  • Leverage AI tools and workspace management platforms to automate operations, sharpen pricing decisions, and increase operating leverage
  • Build systems, SOPs, and training so the asset runs on autopilot, then transfer the playbook to the team and redeploy to the next highest-value project

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in serviced office, coworking, or flex workspace operations, with direct accountability for occupancy, revenue, or site-level P&L
  • Deep command of the flex workspace business model, including member acquisition, retention, pricing, ancillary revenue, and unit economics
  • Experience opening a new location, including pre-leasing, buildout coordination, and ramp to stabilized occupancy, strongly preferred
  • Proven track record selling memberships and private offices, with pipeline built through outbound, brokers, events, and referrals
  • Hospitality-minded and obsessed with the member experience, with an instinct for the details that drive retention and referrals
  • Commercially sharp, translating every decision into revenue and NOI, and comfortable with budgets, operating statements, and KPI tracking
  • Experience with workspace management platforms such as Nexudus, OfficeRnD, Optix, or Yardi Kube, plus CRM systems for pipeline tracking, preferred
  • Experience with package management, smart lockers, virtual mailbox, or other amenity revenue programs is a plus
  • Exposure to multifamily, hospitality, or commercial real estate operations is a plus
  • Strong relationship skills with the polish to engage high-income professionals, business owners, and prospective investors
  • High-agency builder with a bias toward action, comfortable with ambiguity, and relentless in launching, testing, and iterating until the numbers work
  • Systems-minded, able to document processes and teach them so the playbook outlives your direct involvement
  • Thinks like an owner, not a caretaker
  • Based in Dallas or willing to relocate, on site through launch, and mobile enough to follow the opportunity to future projects and markets
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Missionary mindset with full alignment to Rex’s mission to catalyze human flourishing through disciplined stewardship and community building

  • Customer Fanatic. We fanatically focus on customers, seeking to ever-deliver more value, and inventing/innovating on their behalf.
  • Product/Service Passion. Our business thrives or dies by products/services.
  • Ludicrous speed. Our default pace is extremely fast. Time is precious, life is short; and moving fast is more fun and effective.
  • FAWOMO. We will find a way, or make one.
  • Loves going to war: prefers wartime to peacetime, always hungry to move forward, do more, and push growth.
  • Chutzpah. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Fortune favors the bold. Duc in altum.
  • Fun. We should only do work, over the long run, that’s fun; and work with fun people. Jokes and humor welcomed; PC stuff and uptight behavior prohibited.
  • Never-lose-money approach. Protects the downside, using careful analysis before deploying significant resources, and ensuring cash is plentiful; never risking what others have and need for what they don’t have and don’t need.
  • Other-centered. Idealist, desperate more than anything to leave an impact with their life by helping other people, seeing money as a means to serve.
  • Creative cost cutting constantly. There's always a smarter way, always room to cut, always ways to do more with less – a cost advantage is a competitive edge.
  • Fewer, more capable. Bias to as lean of a team as possible, with the highest competency – reducing communication and coordination, creating more effectiveness.
  • Underdogs. What we’ve done is nothing compared to what we’re going to achieve now. We’re fighting to be the best, clawing and biting up and forward, aiming to be the champs, be #1. Scrappy AF no matter how much we accomplish. We’ve never ‘arrived’ in our minds. We’re the underdogs always.
