About the team/role
Checkr is growing its Core IT team, and we’re looking for an experienced AV & Events Specialist II to take our meeting and event experience to the next level. You’ll be the go-to expert for corporate Zoom conferencing and events (all-hands, investor meetings, podcasts, and live streams), with a focus on audio and video quality, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Beyond live events, you’ll keep our meeting spaces running smoothly across the SF office, remote hubs, and executive settings. That includes Zoom Rooms, conference room technology, and the equipment and workplace tech that supports them.
This is an individual contributor role with opportunities to mentor junior team members and interns who want to learn AV. Major company events may involve early mornings, evenings, or occasional travel.
What you’ll do
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot AV equipment across office spaces, meeting rooms, and event venues, including repairs
- Produce and support live events (all-hands, investor meetings, podcasts, and live streams), in person and remote, with a focus on audio and video quality
- Manage AV and equipment inventory, including usage tracking, maintenance, and replacement, and help prepare equipment for onboarding and offboarding
- Work with IT, workplace, and event teams to plan and support meetings and events
- Research and evaluate new AV tools, software, and equipment, and recommend what to adopt
- Coordinate AV and technical requirements with venues and external vendors for offsite events, including equipment procurement and maintenance
What you bring
- 3+ years of AV experience in a corporate environment
- Experience coordinating AV and technical needs with venues and vendors for offsite meetings, events, and conventions, and managing external vendors and AV resources
- Clear communication and a calm, service-oriented approach, especially under live-event pressure
- Deep technical proficiency with AV platforms, including QSC Q-SYS integrated audio, video, and control; Logitech Zoom Rooms hardware; Sonos audio systems; and corporate dashboard displays
- Proficiency with macOS and Windows, and comfort supporting workplace technology such as peripherals, displays, and equipment inventory.
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Nice to Have
- Experience with live production tools (mixers, cameras, switchers, streaming encoders)
- AV certifications such as CTS or similar
- Comfort with scripting or device-management tools for managing room hardware at scale
- Experience with digital signage or room scheduling platforms.
