Description

The Impact You’ll Make

Your work as part of our High Throughput Screening (HTS) team will significantly increase the speed of our drug discovery platform and help achieve our mission of decoding biology to radically improve lives. As a Research Associate, you will play a critical role in identifying drug candidates by delivering consistent, high-quality multi-omics and high-content screening data. This data supports critical decision-making for internal research programs and external partnerships.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Execute High-Throughput Experiments: Conduct hundreds of high-content screens per year using basic molecular biology techniques and automated laboratory instrumentation in 384- and 1536-well microplates.
  • Prioritize Production: Execute production-focused assay work as your highest priority, ensuring full adherence to established SOPs, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain Lab Excellence: Perform equipment maintenance, QC validations, reagent preparation, and monitor experiments to ensure operational sustainability.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Participate in projects aimed at improving laboratory performance, increasing throughput, and reducing "toil" through automation and process optimization.
  • Communicate Proactively: Take ownership of assigned work and proactively communicate assay status, risks, and delays to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and Develop: Participate in cross-training efforts to increase team flexibility and expand your own technical skills in the multi-omics space.

The Team You’ll Join

You will join a high-performing, mission-focused group in our high-throughput screening platform. This is a dynamic team that is tenacious in problem-solving and rigorous in challenging the status quo, while maintaining an incredibly supportive and collaborative environment.

The Experience You’ll Need

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree or similar in a biological field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in molecular biology concepts and experience with automated, computer-controlled laboratory instrumentation.
  • Computational Comfort: Familiarity with computational tools to leverage efficiency.
  • Mindset: The ability to think on your feet, knowing when to ask for help and when to figure things out independently.
  • Culture Fit: A passion for working in a fast-paced environment where you can leverage creativity and independent thinking.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Automation Experience: Experience working with and maintaining liquid handlers like Agilent BioTek EL406s, Beckman Coulter Echo Liquid Handlers, and Hamilton Microlab STAR Liquid Handlers.
  • Coding Experience: Familiarity with coding, particularly with Python.
