Description

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology and amazing people.

Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in a diverse, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Join our team and explore the opportunities to compose a meaningful global influence.

Take part in realizing the next generation of on-chip optical communication platforms for data centers! NVIDIA's electro optics group is looking for a motivated student to join our experimental lab in Yokneam, where we develop, test and characterize Silicon Photonics based high-speed optical communication devices. You will work side by side with experienced electro optics engineers on real projects, from basic component-level measurements up to link-level high-speed characterization and post-silicon testing.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist in the characterization of electro-optical components and subsystems in their development stage.
  • Help build and operate electro-optical experimental setups, from the basic component level to link-level measurements.
  • Support the bring-up of NVIDIA’s next switches and transceivers in their early stages.
  • Work with high-speed testing equipment (scopes, PPG, AWG, BERT) under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Automate measurements and analyze data using MATLAB / Python.
  • Document setups, procedures and results, and present findings to the team.
  • Learn from and work closely with experts in the field of Silicon Photonics.

What we need to see:

  • Currently studying toward a BSc / MSc / PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related electro-optics field (3rd year or above, or graduate student).
  • Availability of 2-3 days per week, with a minimum of 2 days on-site in Yokneam due to the experimental nature of the role.
  • Passion for experimental work and for observing physical phenomena first hand.
  • Strong capability for learning and entering new fields quickly.
  • Good collaborative and interpersonal skills; willingness to take ownership of well-defined tasks.
  • Programming skills in MATLAB or Python.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Hands-on experience in an optics, photonics or electronics lab (academic projects count).
  • Coursework or project experience in photonics, optical communication, RF / high-speed electronics or communication systems.
  • Experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers or optical power meters.
  • Deep curiosity and a passion for what you do.
  • NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most brilliant and forward-thinking people in the world working for us. If you're creative and autonomous, we want to hear from you! We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
