Description

EvenUp is on a mission to close the justice gap using technology and AI. We empower personal injury lawyers and victims to get the justice they deserve. Our products enable law firms to secure faster settlements, higher payouts, and better outcomes for victims injured through no fault of their own in vehicle collisions, accidents, natural disasters, and more.

We are one of the fastest-growing vertical SaaS companies in history, and we are just getting started. EvenUp is backed by top VCs, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, SignalFire, and Lightspeed. We are looking to expand our team with talented, driven, and collaborative individuals who seek to have a lasting impact. Learn more at www.evenuplaw.com.

We are looking for a Staff People Business Partner (PBP) to serve as a principal advisor and strategic architect for our senior leadership team. At this level, you are not simply executing People strategy, you are shaping it. You will sit at the intersection of business strategy, operational execution, and executive coaching during a critical period of organizational restructure and business scale for EvenUp.

You will bring a predictive lens to organizational health, anticipating challenges and shaping the organization with our new GTM leadership. As a senior leader within the People organization, you will set the standard for what exceptional strategic partnership looks like, tackle complex organizational design challenges, and proactively build structural, scalable solutions that drive EvenUp’s mission forward.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Strategic Executive Advising: Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite and VP-level executives. Translate high-level business strategy into precise talent implications, defining the capabilities, leadership, and structures of the organization.

  • Complex Organizational Design: Lead sophisticated organizational design and workforce planning initiatives. Align talent supply and demand to organizational restructure, business roadmaps, and financial planning cycles.

  • Systems-Level Problem Solving: Apply a systems-level lens to organizational challenges, identifying root causes and building structural solutions rather than addressing symptoms in isolation.

  • Executive Coaching & Leadership Development: Model what exceptional coaching looks like. Support leadership capability building across the business, maintaining cohesion, agility, and alignment with EvenUp’s cultural values as teams scale.

  • High-Stakes Employee Relations & Change Management: Navigate and resolve complex and urgent ER challenges. Develop scalable ER frameworks and escalation protocols that elevate practice quality across the People team.

  • Data & People Intelligence: Develop and present executive-ready people insights that influence business strategy. Surface systemic patterns, risks, and opportunities, translating local team insights into department-level recommendations.

  • Peer Leadership: Act as a mentor and connector within the broader People team. Drive consistency in practice quality by developing playbooks, process standards, and shared tools, raising the bar for the entire People Business Partner and People teams.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5-7 years operating as a strategic HRBP/People BP. You have extensive experience directly supporting VP and C-level executives in a pre-IPO and high-growth, fast-paced technology environment (Series D+ preferred).

  • Business Acumen: You possess deep business acumen and the ability to decompose complex, ambiguous business problems into clear, scalable People solutions.

  • Strategic Influence: You have a strong executive presence with a collaborative, data-driven approach, combined with the confidence to challenge and push back, and to find mutually beneficial solutions with senior leaders.

  • Employee Relations Expertise: You’re an expert in California and federal employment law, and you’re comfortable resolving ambiguous situations. You can take an urgent, complex case from proposed solution to resolution, working with Legal, the employee, and leadership to land on an outcome everyone can stand behind.

  • Analytical Storytelling: Exceptional ability to translate “HR speak” and data metrics into accessible, influential narratives that drive executive decision-making.

  • Agility & Ownership: High ownership mentality. You thrive in ambiguity and can easily pivot between high-level strategic architecture and rolling up your sleeves to get critical, time-sensitive work done.

  • Education & Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree in organizational development, business, or HR management is a plus).

Benefits & Perks:

As part of our total rewards package, we offer attractive benefits and perks to our employees, including:

  • Choice of medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for you and your family.

  • Additional insurance coverage options for life, accident, or critical illness.

  • Flexible paid time off, sick leave, short-term and long-term disability.

  • 10 US observed holidays, and Canadian statutory holidays by province.

  • A home office stipend.

  • 401(k) for US-based employees and RRSP for Canada-based employees.

  • Paid parental leave.

  • A local in-person meet-up program.

  • Hubs in San Francisco and Toronto.

(Please note the above benefits & perks are for full-time employees)
