About Layer Health
Layer Health was founded in 2023 by leading machine learning researchers from MIT and Harvard Medical School. We are building an AI layer that can accurately and scalably synthesize information from medical records, with the mission to reduce friction everywhere in healthcare. Our LLM-powered platform is solving chart review once and for all, across use cases. For health systems, our first product dramatically accelerates clinical registry abstraction in areas ranging from surgery and cardiology, to oncology. Our long term vision is for our AI layer to safely transform patient care and minimize unnecessary heartbreak. Layer Health’s diverse founding team brings expertise across machine learning, UI/UX, large language models, and medicine.
Here’s a collection of articles about our product, mission, recent funding round, etc.
Role summary
Over the past few months at Layer Health, Marketing has been formalized as a function and we have stood up the foundations of a high-efficiency demand function. Now that we have built the engine, we are hiring a Senior Manager of Demand Generation to own it, fine-tune, and scale it. You will be the person who turns infrastructure into pipeline: designing and running integrated campaigns against a defined target account list of several hundred US health systems, building the nurture and ABM layers that are not yet built, and partnering tightly with Sales on handoff, SLAs, and pipeline reporting.
This is a hands-on, builder role at a Series A company preparing for its next stage of growth. You will set strategy and you will also build the workflow, write the sequence, and read the dashboard.
What you’ll own
Integrated campaign planning and execution:
- Own the demand generation plan and calendar across our portfolio of quality- / clinical-focused solutions
- Design and run persona-based campaigns for our health system-based buying committee. Audience builds, messaging variants, and email sequences per persona.
- Own paid media strategy and execution (LinkedIn, Google, etc.). Evaluate channel performance and make scaling and reallocation calls.
- Build the nurture infrastructure and email programs that move accounts from awareness through to sales-ready.
- Work hand-in-hand with our content marketing team to program existing content across channels and ideate on net-new content to support campaign strategy
Account-based marketing:
- Own the ABM program end to end: ICP and tiering framework, target account list hygiene, account-level engagement tracking, and account-based campaign execution at scale.
- Maintain account tagging (ICP fit, tier, target status) across HubSpot and Salesforce and keep the target account list current as the standing reference for campaigns, events, and sales.
- Lead ABM platform evaluation and selection if and when the program warrants a dedicated tool.
Marketing operations and measurement:
- Own marketing operations outright. Our current MOPs foundation was built with outside consultants; you will take it in-house, including the day-to-day administration (workflow and property changes, list management, form updates, campaign setup and cleanup, user provisioning, integration monitoring) as we transition to internal ownership.
- Own HubSpot as the marketing system of record, including workflows, forms and progressive profiling, lists, lifecycle automation, and compliance workflows.
- Partner with Sales (owner of Salesforce) to keep the bidirectional sync, lead-to-account matching, routing, and Salesforce Campaign setup reliable and current.
- Maintain UTM and campaign taxonomy standards and enforce them across every channel, including events and webinars.
- Own campaign and pipeline reporting: marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline, account-level engagement dashboards, and channel performance. Evolve attribution from last-touch toward multi-touch as the program matures.
Sales alignment:
- Own the marketing-to-sales handoff: MQL definition, lead scoring and prioritization, SLAs, and the reporting that shows what marketing is contributing to pipeline.
- Run a regular cadence with Sales and Customer Success to review account engagement, agree on plays for priority accounts, and close the loop on what is converting.
Events and conference programs (demand side):
- Build pre-event, at-event, and post-event campaign motions for our conference calendar (e.g., ACC Quality Summit, ACS Quality and Safety Conference, IHI Forum, HLTH), including target-account mapping against attendee lists and follow-up sequencing.
Vendors and tooling:
- Manage demand gen and marketing ops contractors and vendors, and own the roadmap for enrichment, intent, and AI-assisted tooling in the stack.
What you’ll need
- 6–10 years in B2B demand generation, with at least 3 years running integrated, account-based programs. Healthcare or health IT experience selling into hospitals and health systems is strongly preferred; experience with long, committee-driven enterprise sales cycles is required.
- Deep hands-on fluency in HubSpot (marketing automation, workflows, reporting) and strong working knowledge of Salesforce campaigns, lead routing, and attribution. You have built or substantially rebuilt a marketing-to-sales handoff before, and you are comfortable being the marketing ops administrator, not just the consumer of one.
- Proven paid media ownership on platforms such as LinkedIn and Google, including audience strategy, creative testing, and budget management against pipeline targets.
- Comfortable with messaging discipline. You can take a defined positioning and lexicon, write persona-specific copy within it, and know when a claim needs a source behind it.
- A builder's instinct and a startup pace. You are as comfortable configuring a workflow as presenting a pipeline review, and you do not wait for a team to exist before getting things done.
- Analytical and honest with data: you separate what is proven from what is projected and say so.
- Strong partnership skills with Sales. You see pipeline as a shared number.
Why this role matters
You will be the first dedicated demand generation hire at a company with real customers, real proof points, and a category to define. The foundation is built and documented; the next layer is yours to design and own.
Compensation is dependent on experience, but will likely be a range of $140k - $170k.
Expected compensation ranges for this role may change over time. If your compensation requirement is greater than our posted salary ranges, please still consider applying to our role. We will make a determination as to whether an exception can be made.
