Salary undisclosedDescription
About the Role
Every ARX platform has to perform as an integrated product, not just as a collection of well-tested components. As Staff V&V Engineer, you make sure the electrical and electronic systems of our robotic platforms do exactly what they were designed to do. You turn system and product requirements into practical test strategies, run integration and validation campaigns, and give release decisions a foundation of objective evidence.
Your work sits where hardware, firmware, sensors, and product come together. You will test hands-on, trace faults to their root cause, and collaborate closely with E/E hardware, embedded software, systems engineering, and product teams. Design ownership stays with the engineering teams, while you provide the evidence and technical transparency that accountable functions rely on. Your findings will shape how our platforms become more reliable and easier to test in every release.
What You'll Build
- Test strategies, test plans, and test cases derived from system, interface, safety, and compliance requirements, with full traceability to results and release evidence.
- Functional, interface, performance, robustness, and fault-injection campaigns across E/E hardware, firmware, sensors, actuators, and vehicle-level functions.
- Environmental, EMC, and electrical safety qualification campaigns, including test scopes and evidence packages for accredited laboratories and certification bodies.
- Test benches, hardware-in-the-loop setups, and data acquisition environments that represent real platform configurations.
- Automated regression testing and standardized reporting that make every test run faster and more repeatable.
- Bring-up and electrical characterization of new prototypes and platform configurations.
- Root-cause analyses of test and field failures, with corrective and preventive actions delivered together with the design teams.
- Evidence-based release recommendations that clearly state blockers, limitations, and residual risks.
What You Bring
- A degree in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, robotics, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience in verification, validation, system testing, or integration testing of complex electrical products.
- A solid understanding of embedded hardware, firmware integration, and communication interfaces.
- Confidence with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, data loggers, and bus-analysis tools.
- A systematic approach to troubleshooting, with a talent for reducing complex failures to a reproducible cause.
- Scripting and data analysis skills, for example in Python, applied to test automation.
- The discipline to work independently in prototype and test environments, with strict configuration control and clear documentation.
- Concise communication that connects hardware, software, systems, and product teams.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Bonus: experience with mobile robotics, off-highway or automotive systems, CAN or Ethernet, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or failure analysis methods such as FMEA or 8D. German skills.
Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
