About the Role
As the founding DevOps engineer at an early-stage AI assistant company, you will build and own the operational platform behind a fast-moving product. Your work will help the team deploy frequently while keeping production systems secure, reliable, and resilient.
What You'll Do
Own cloud infrastructure, networking, databases, and compute, managing environments through infrastructure as code.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with fast builds, gated tests, preview environments, feature flags, and rapid rollbacks.
Design and operate logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting systems that help identify issues early.
Establish on-call rotations, runbooks, incident response practices, and postmortems that reduce repeat incidents.
Implement security controls for secrets, access, dependencies, audit logs, and privacy requirements.
Monitor infrastructure costs and capacity, plan for growth, and improve efficiency.
Set platform standards and help grow the engineering team.
What We're Looking For
At least 4 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering, including production on-call work.
Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform, infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Pulumi, containers, and orchestration.
A track record building CI/CD and deployment tooling for frequent, reliable releases.
Experience with observability, incident response, security practices, and compliance work such as SOC 2.
Ability to write TypeScript or Python and understand the application code you deploy.
Comfort with AI-assisted development workflows, and the judgment to verify and take ownership of shipped work.
A hands-on, founding-team mindset and interest in setting platform standards.
