Welcome to DevFest Münster 2026, a high-impact, hands-on hackathon dedicated to exploring cutting-edge Google AI tools, autonomous multi-agent workflows, and the future of software creation.

We are entering the agentic era: developers and solution builders are shifting from static chat prompts and raw code to orchestrating autonomous agents, defining policy guardrails, and managing distributed model architectures. Whether you are an experienced software engineer or a builder leveraging modern developer tooling, this 1-day sprint is your platform to design, secure, and deploy functional agentic solutions.

Key Highlights:

  • Hands-on Workshops: Deep-dive sessions with Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) and modern agent workflows.

  • Direct Mentorship: Build alongside Google Developer Experts (GDEs) and industry leaders.

  • "Hard Demos Only": Live agent demonstrations and CLI execution directly on stage—no theoretical slide decks.

Get started

Follow these steps to prepare for the hackathon:

  1. Secure Your In-Person Ticket: Ensure you have RSVP’d and hold an active confirmation ticket via the official GDG Münster Event Page. In-person entry at VHS Münster requires ticket verification at the door.

  2. Choose Your Stack & Set Up Your Tools:

    • Recommended Google Stack: You can explore Google AI Studio, Gemini APIs, Firebase Genkit, and the Agent Development Kit (ADK) if you want to build natively on Google ecosystem tools.

    • Bring Your Own Stack (BYOS): Prefer using Anthropic’s Claude, Antigravity, OpenAI, or local open-weights models? You are completely free to use your preferred LLMs, agent frameworks, and developer environments. Bring your own API keys and tooling.

  3. Form a Team: You can hack solo or form a team of up to 4 members. We have dedicated team-building and ideation slots on Saturday morning at 11:30 AM.

  4. Join the On-Site Workshops: Arrive by 9:00 AM on November 21st for check-in and attend the morning technical briefings to get immediate guidance from mentors.

 

Requirements

What to Build

Build an innovative, functional prototype or end-to-end tool powered by Google’s agentic AI ecosystem. Your project should address real-world utility under the core theme: Build, Secure, Scale: Developers and Builders in the Agentic Era.

Suggested Focus Areas:

  • Multi-Agent Orchestration: Autonomous workflows where specialized agents collaborate, call APIs, run CLI commands, and solve multi-step problems.

  • Secure-by-Default AI: Systems implementing zero-trust tool access, prompt-injection defense mechanisms, data privacy guardrails, and audit-ready execution logs.

  • Developer Productivity & Tooling: AI-native developer agents built with Project IDX, Firebase Genkit, or Antigravity that automate testing, refactoring, or infrastructure deployment.

  • On-Device / Mobile Agents: Edge or client-side agent integrations using Gemma or Gemini Nano within Flutter and Android environments.

What to Submit

To qualify for official judging and awards by the 3:00 PM submission deadline, teams must submit the following via Devpost:

  • Project Overview: A clear project title, a short pitch (1–2 sentences), and a detailed description explaining what problem your agent solves.

  • Architecture & Agent Logic: A concise breakdown of the agentic workflow (how tools are invoked, which models are utilized, and what security guardrails are applied).

  • Repository Link: A public GitHub / GitLab repository containing clean source code and clear setup/run instructions.

  • Live Demo Readiness: Confirmation of a working environment for the on-stage Showcase (Hard Demos Only — live terminal commands, UI interactions, or functional prototype execution).

  • Technologies Used: Explicit tags for all integrated tools (e.g., Gemini, ADK, Google Cloud, Flutter, Gemma).
