Event Overview

Garuda Hacks 7.0 is Indonesia's premier international hackathon taking place July 16-18, 2026, at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. This 30-hour intensive coding marathon challenges participants to build innovative solutions that bring Indonesia's ideals closer to its lived reality.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we're dedicated to empowering young Indonesians with the skills and motivation to solve the country's most urgent issues. Since 2020, we've consistently hosted Southeast Asia's largest hackathons, helping thousands of students develop in both computer science and entrepreneurship.

Requirements

What to Build

This year's theme focuses on developing sustainable solutions for Health, Safety, and Resilience and Agriculture. You are challenged to create functional tools that address regional disparities and support vulnerable populations. Your work will directly contribute to building a more stable, self-sufficient, and secure future for Indonesia.

Check out https://www.garudahacks.com for more information on the theme and tracks.

What to Submit (In English only):

  • A Project Summary
  • Link(s) to your repository for code. Prototyping platforms like Figma or Sketch should submit a public view-only link to the project, not to the prototype.
  • A 2-minute demo video, containing problem you want to tackle, how you solve it, the tech stack used, AI disclosure, and any strengths of your project. Video is not limited to static PPT or screen record, but can be anything you want as long as it potrays your project.
  • A paragraph about the development process
  • A list of tools used
  • An AI usage disclosure: what kind of AI are you using, how you use it, and how it helped you overcame the problem or challenge during hackathon.
  • Copyrighted materials used in your project: including any important libraries used within code, imagery, audiovisual, copywriting, etc.

Please refer to handbook for more comprehensive guide for the submission.
