PROOF Aviation Futures™, powered by Hack the Concrete Jungle (HTCJ), is an innovation challenge for founders, engineers, students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and multidisciplinary teams building the next generation of aviation, aerospace, and mobility technology.
We’re looking for more than ideas. We want to see what you can build, demonstrate, validate, and move toward real-world application.
The challenge invites teams to tackle opportunities across artificial intelligence, intelligent flight systems, aerospace, advanced air mobility (AAM/eVTOL), drones and UAS, autonomous systems, airport technology, cybersecurity and dual-use technology, cargo and logistics, passenger experience and accessibility, aviation workforce development, and aviation entrepreneurship.
From Problem to PROOFThe challenge follows a simple model:
PROBLEM → BUILD → SUBMIT → REVIEW → PROVE → MATCH → PILOT-READY
Participants should be prepared to answer:
What problem are you solving?
Who experiences that problem?
What have you built?
How does the technology work?
Who could use or buy it?
Can you demonstrate it?
What would it take to test it in a real environment?
Projects may address:
AI + Flight Intelligence — predictive systems, AI copilots, decision support, operational intelligence, telemetry, maintenance, and safety.
Autonomy + Advanced Air Mobility — eVTOL, drones, autonomous flight, UAS operations, routing, fleet systems, and emerging mobility.
Airport + Aviation Infrastructure — smart airports, ground operations, charging, energy, logistics, baggage, cargo, facilities, and infrastructure.
Cybersecurity + Dual-Use Technology — aircraft and airport cybersecurity, resilient communications, data protection, trusted AI, and technologies with commercial and public-sector applications.
Passenger Experience + Accessibility — travel technology, accessibility, wayfinding, customer experience, connected journeys, and inclusive aviation.
Workforce + Aviation Business — training, maintenance, operations, education, entrepreneurship, aviation services, local suppliers, and future-of-work solutions.
Beyond the ChallengeFor HTCJ, submission is not necessarily the end of the process.
Selected projects may be considered for continued opportunities within the HTCJ and PROOF ecosystem, including founder assessment, technology showcases, mentor engagement, business and industry introductions, corporate challenge matching, commercialization support, and pilot-readiness evaluation.
The objective is to identify technologies and founders capable of moving from an innovation challenge toward something that can be demonstrated, evaluated, and potentially deployed in the real world.

Whether you’re a founder, engineer, developer, researcher, student, designer, aviation professional, or multidisciplinary team, this is your opportunity to identify a real aviation problem, build a solution, and prove it.
HOW TO GET STARTED
1. CHOOSE A PROBLEM
Identify a meaningful challenge across aviation, aerospace, AI, autonomy, airports, cybersecurity, passenger experience, infrastructure, logistics, workforce, or advanced air mobility.
2. BUILD YOUR SOLUTION
Create a prototype, application, AI system, hardware concept, platform, technical architecture, business solution, or working demonstration.
3. CREATE YOUR TEAM
Participate individually or bring together the technical, business, design, aviation, and industry expertise needed to strengthen your solution.
4. SUBMIT YOUR PROOF
Show us the problem, your solution, how it works, who needs it, what you built, and what you need to move forward.
5. GET REVIEWED
Submissions will be evaluated for problem relevance, innovation, technical execution, usability, business potential, demonstration readiness, and pathway toward real-world application.
6. KEEP BUILDING
Selected projects may be considered for continued opportunities through the HTCJ and PROOF ecosystem, including showcases, founder development, mentor engagement, technology matching, industry introductions, commercialization support, and pilot-readiness evaluation.
Be prepared to submit your project name, team information, problem statement, solution, technology used, target customer/user, project stage, written description, images or screenshots, demonstration/video where available, and links to your working product, prototype, repository, or supporting materials.

You do not need a fully developed company or finished commercial product to participate.
You do need a clear problem, a credible solution, and enough evidence for reviewers to understand what you built and why it matters.

PROOF Aviation Futures™ is open to software, AI, hardware, robotics, platforms, infrastructure concepts, workforce solutions, and new aviation businesses.
Your project should start with a real problem and demonstrate a credible solution.
You can build in any of these areas:
AI + FLIGHT INTELLIGENCE
AI copilots, predictive maintenance, flight planning, operational intelligence, computer vision, safety systems, weather intelligence, decision-support tools, aviation agents, and intelligent airport operations.
AUTONOMY + ADVANCED AIR MOBILITY
Drones, UAS platforms, eVTOL systems, autonomous operations, fleet management, airspace coordination, navigation, vertiport technology, ground-control systems, and advanced mobility applications.
AIRPORT + GROUND OPERATIONS

Your submission should make it easy for reviewers to understand the problem, what you built, how it works, who needs it, and what happens next.
Your PROOF Aviation Futures™ submission should include:
1. PROJECT NAME
Give your solution a clear, memorable name.
2. THE PROBLEM
What aviation, aerospace, airport, mobility, workforce, logistics, safety, or passenger problem are you solving? Who experiences it, and why does it matter?
3. YOUR SOLUTION
Explain what you built and how it addresses the problem.
4. YOUR PROOF
Show evidence that the solution exists. This may include a working prototype, application, AI model, hardware prototype, simulation, technical architecture, dashboard, platform, service workflow, business model, or other demonstrable solution.
5. DEMO
Whenever possible, include a short video demonstrating your project. Show the product working rather than only describing it.
6. IMAGES / SCREENSHOTS
Include clear visuals of your product, interface, hardware, prototype, diagrams, system architecture, or user experience.
7. TECHNOLOGY USED
Tell us what you built with: AI models, APIs, programming languages, cloud infrastructure, hardware, sensors, robotics, datasets, aviation systems, development platforms, or other technologies.
8. TARGET USER / CUSTOMER
Who would actually use or purchase this solution?
Examples include airlines, airports, aircraft operators, pilots, maintenance organizations, cargo companies, drone operators, travelers, government agencies, aviation businesses, schools, manufacturers, or aviation workers.
9. CURRENT STAGE
