Marketing Operations Project Lead (Remote)
Align Technology, Inc.
Compensation
$35-$40/hr
Description
About the Role
Align Technology is looking for a hands-on Marketing Operations Project Lead to help drive a global internal communications and knowledge management initiative from planning through execution.
You’ll take an existing business need and turn it into a clear, structured plan — building the project roadmap, organizing and improving SharePoint content, creating supporting materials and processes, and coordinating stakeholders across global and regional teams.
The first two weeks of the engagement will focus on understanding the current state, key stakeholders, processes, and priorities, and translating that into a detailed project plan with clear timelines, weekly milestones, and deliverables.
This is an execution-focused role. We’re looking for someone who can independently take ownership of the work, create structure where needed, and personally drive the coordination and execution required to move the project forward.
**Please note:
- This is a remote, contract role
- The engagement is expected to be 20-25 hours per week for an initial 3-month term
- This is an immediate need. Candidates should be readily available to interview and onboard if selected
- Candidates should be comfortable and possess excellent written and verbal English communication skills
What You’ll Do
- Assess the current state during the first two weeks and develop a detailed project plan with clear timelines, milestones, dependencies, and weekly deliverables.
- Own delivery against the agreed plan, ensuring defined outputs are completed each week and keeping the project on track.
- Create and organize content, communications, materials, and supporting project tools.
- Improve the structure and organization of SharePoint content, including information architecture, content migration, and overall usability.
- Coordinate with internal design, translation, communications, marketing, operations, and IT teams as needed to move deliverables forward.
- Work from established brand guidelines and templates to create or update materials in tools such as Canva.
- Help establish practical processes and standards for how content and information should be organized and maintained.
- Manage priorities independently, provide clear progress updates, surface risks or blockers, and keep decisions moving.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience leading and executing cross-functional marketing, communications, or operations projects.
- Proven ability to create project roadmaps, define milestones, and manage delivery against clear weekly outputs.
- Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience creating, organizing, and structuring content in SharePoint.
- Experience with Canva and Asana, or similar project management and content creation tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and regions.
- A highly autonomous working style with strong ownership, organization, and accountability.
- Comfort working across both planning and execution rather than operating in a strategy-only or advisory capacity.
Relevant Experience
Experience in several of the following areas would be particularly valuable:
- Internal communications or employee engagement
- Knowledge management
- Marketing or communications operations
- SharePoint information architecture and content migration
- Content development and brand governance
- Global project or program coordination
- Process design and standardization
- Change adoption and stakeholder engagement
- Working across global and regional teams
How You’ll Work
You’ll collaborate closely with the project owner and a cross-functional group of stakeholders spanning global and regional teams, internal communications, marketing operations, brand, design, and SharePoint/IT support.
Closer collaboration and working-hour overlap will be important during the initial onboarding and planning phase. Once the project plan is established, the role will offer greater flexibility, with regular touchpoints to review progress and keep weekly deliverables on track.
The right person will be comfortable working independently, bringing structure to an evolving project, and moving quickly between planning, coordination, content development, and hands-on execution.
