Content & Social Media Manager (US-Remote)
TRM Labs · United States only
Compensation
$100-$130/hr
Description
About the Role
TRM Labs is looking for a hands-on Content & Social Media Manager to turn existing strong long-form content (blogs, podcasts, video from speaking engagements, longer posts on X or Linkedin) into compelling, platform-native social content that reaches the right audiences and drives measurable action.
This is not a social coordinator role. You’ll own the full cycle: deciding how content should be repurposed, creating it, getting it in front of the right audiences, and measuring whether it actually worked.
You’ll work across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant channels, transforming blogs, podcasts, videos, and thought leadership into content designed specifically for each platform.
The right person combines strong creative instincts with analytical rigor. You should care as much about who saw the content and what they did next as you do about how many views or likes it received.
**Please note:
- This is a US-remote contract role
- The engagement is expected to be 30-40 hours per week, and is intended to be a longer-term, ongoing engagement for the right person, with potential to expand in scope and hours based on performance and business needs
- Candidates must be able to provide at least 4 hours of daily overlap with Pacific Time
- This is an immediate need. Candidates should be readily available to interview and onboard if selected
- Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining strong responsiveness during the working day
What You’ll Own
- Turn blogs, podcasts, videos, and other long-form content into multiple platform-native social assets.
- Create content directly across formats such as short-form video, carousels, static creative, and social copy.
- Adapt creative and messaging for the audience and platform rather than simply reformatting the same asset across channels.
- Success looks like interesting, creative differentiated content that makes our target audience (top talent most likely at top AI tech companies) stop scrolling and look at our content, and get interested in ‘who is trm?’
- Own the social content process from concept through publishing, measurement, and iteration.
- Run disciplined experiments across messaging, formats, audiences, creative, and distribution.
- Use performance data to understand what is resonating, with whom, and why.
- Measure meaningful audience quality and downstream action rather than relying primarily on impressions, views, or engagement volume.
- Manage paid social campaigns and audience targeting when appropriate.
- Work within established TRM brand guidelines while finding creative ways to make content stand out.
- Develop clear briefs for internal designers, agencies, influencers, production teams, and other external partners when additional support is needed.
- Help build a repeatable social engine that increases recognition with the technical talent audiences TRM wants to reach.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of recent experience operating within a high-growth technology company during its roughly 200–800 employee stage.
- Strong hands-on experience creating and repurposing social content across multiple platforms.
- Ability to personally produce content rather than relying entirely on designers, agencies, or production partners.
- Experience working within established brand guidelines and creative standards.
- Strong understanding of social analytics, audience targeting, experimentation, and attribution.
- Demonstrated ability to determine whether content is reaching the right audience, not simply generating high reach or engagement.
- Experience connecting content activity to meaningful outcomes such as site traffic, pipeline, conversion, or other downstream actions.
- Hands-on familiarity with paid social campaign setup and distribution.
- Strong copywriting, creative judgment, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment with a high performance bar.
Nice to Have
- Experience helping build a brand from relatively low awareness to meaningful recognition on socials.
- Experience with event, conference, campus, or location-targeted social campaigns.
- Experience managing or briefing agencies, influencers, or external creative partners.
- Experience marketing to highly technical audiences, particularly engineering or developer communities.
Important Background Note
Prior recruiting, employer-brand, or talent-brand experience is not required.
TRM is looking for an excellent content and social marketer first — someone who has demonstrated they can create strong content, reach the right audience, measure its impact, and continuously improve the strategy in a high-growth technology environment.
Candidate Process
Qualified candidates may be invited to complete a practical content exercise later in the interview process. The exercise will focus on repurposing an existing piece of TRM content and explaining how its performance should be measured.
The exercise will only be introduced after initial qualification and profile review.
