Please advertise at USD 15 per hour, depending on experience.

Purpose of the role

I will provide the content, subject matter, research and overall direction.

We are not looking for someone to research topics, develop our opinions or create our thought leadership.

The role starts once the content has been created.

Their responsibility is to take the content we provide and manage the post-production, editing coordination, packaging, publishing and distribution across our three brands and podcast.

Key responsibilities

The successful person should be able to:

Manage the podcast post-production process

Brief and manage a video/podcast editor

Ideally recommend or source reliable editors they have previously worked with

Review completed long-form podcast edits

Identify the strongest moments for short-form clips

Review short-form clips before publishing

Check captions, graphics, wording and imagery

Ensure everything looks and sounds appropriate for an Australian audience

Identify American spelling, terminology, currency, property imagery, streetscapes or other non-Australian references

Create or coordinate podcast thumbnails and Canva assets

Prepare show notes, descriptions and promotional copy from the content supplied

Publish podcast/video content to the appropriate platforms

Schedule and distribute short-form content

Repurpose supplied content appropriately across our three brands

Assist with website/blog publishing

Assist with newsletter/email distribution

Maintain a clear content and publishing calendar

Provide regular updates on what has been completed, what is scheduled and what remains outstanding

Essential skills

Excellent written and verbal English

Excellent communication and follow-through

Proven experience working with Australian businesses or Australian audiences

Strong understanding of Australian spelling, terminology, imagery and culture

Podcast/video production workflow experience

Experience managing video editors

Canva

Social-media publishing and scheduling

Strong use of AI/ChatGPT for repurposing, editing and production support

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently without needing constant instruction

They do not need to be a high-end video editor themselves, but they should understand editing well enough to brief an editor, review the output and identify what needs to be improved.
