What This Role Is…

As a Digital Tech, the primary function of the role is to review, organize, and manage all images produced within the Content Studio to ensure consistency, color accuracy, and alignment with brand standards. The Digital Tech also bridges the gap between the Photography and Retouching teams, ensuring every image meets CITY HOME’s visual and technical quality standards before publication. Your contributions will play a key role in maintaining our visual integrity across marketing channels and supporting the overall success of the Creative department at CITY HOME.

Reports To: Supervisor, Creative 

Location: Tamarac Corporate Office

Department/Sub-Department: Creative / Core Creative 


What You’ll Do:

As the Digital Tech, your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Image Review & Quality Control – Review all studio images for consistency, color accuracy, exposure, and adherence to brand standards. Identify issues and provide feedback to photographers to maintain professional-level quality. (40%)
  • AI Image Generation – Utilize approved AI image generation tools to create or enhance product imagery, ensuring outputs meet brand and quality standards. (10%)
  • QC of External Vendor Images – Review incoming image assets from external vendors to confirm they meet CITY HOME's quality, color, and technical standards prior to onboarding into the image library. (15%)
  • Organizing & Managing Image Files – Catalog, label, and maintaining an organized image management system to track project status and ensure easy file retrieval. (5%)
  • Creating Retouching Notes – Develop detailed retouching notes highlighting necessary corrections, adjustments, or enhancements; collaborate with the retouching team to ensure visual accuracy. (15%)
  • Standards Compliance & Process Improvement – Maintain up-to-date quality guidelines, assist in implementing process improvements, and ensure compliance with technical requirements like color profiles and resolution standards. (5%)

Additional duties and responsibilities as a Digital Tech:

  • Participate in daily team syncs and cross-functional updates. (5%)
  • Maintain documentation of quality control standards and update procedures as needed. (5%) 
  • Adheres to all assigned Standard Work and Role and Responsibilities for your role.

What’s Required…

  • Education & Work Experience:
    • Nice to have: Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Graphic Design, or related field
    • 3+ years of experience in photography quality control, post-production, or similar role
  • Work Environment & Schedule:
    • Monday through Friday 
    • On-site in Corporate Office
    • Occasional extended hours during seasonal or high-volume periods
    • 10% Travel (including possible travel for TV shoots)
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged sitting and computer screens
    • Lifting up to 20 lbs. (equipment or sample handling) 
  • Technology Requirements:
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. SharePoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.)
    • Google Suite (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
    • Adobe Suite (i.e Photoshop, Bridge, etc.)
    • Knowledge of file management systems and workflow tracking tools
    • Capture One
    • AI image generation tools
  • Certifications / Licenses
    • Nice to have: Valid Driver’s License
