# Founding Project Manager

**Huckleberry Signals** | Remote (US) | Part-time to start, roughly 20 hours per week

## About us

Huckleberry Signals is an AI-powered data intelligence platform built for grower-packer-shippers in fresh produce. We are a small team. Our software helps produce companies make decisions from real data instead of gut feel.

## About the role

We are looking for a seasoned project manager to keep our development work organized and on schedule. This is a founding role, so you will help set how we run, not inherit someone else's process. You will run our planning rhythm, keep the project board current, and make sure the right work happens in the right order.

You will not write software yourself. You do need to be comfortable in technical conversations and follow what the team is building well enough to plan around it. Think APIs, data pipelines, releases, and the difference between a bug and a new feature. If you have run projects for a software or data team before, you already know the vocabulary. Produce and agriculture experience is not required.

You will report to our CTO and work closely with our CEO.

## What you will own

- Run our planning meetings, daily check-ins, and end-of-cycle reviews

- Keep tickets accurate, current, and clear enough for anyone to pick up

- Plan people and time across each work cycle, and reshuffle when priorities change

- Flag risks and slipping timelines early, before they become surprises

- Draft clear status updates for customers and plain-language recaps for leadership

- Sit in on customer calls to capture feedback, then turn it into tickets and planning input

- Hold people accountable to the dates they commit to

## What we are looking for

- Several years of experience running projects and keeping teams on schedule

- Strong writing. You can turn a long, messy technical thread into three clear sentences.

- A careful record keeper. Details do not fall through the cracks with you.

- Comfort with everyday development terminology, without needing to be an engineer

- A fast learner. You can pick up a new concept once and use it correctly after that.

- Common sense and good judgment under pressure

- Ability to work independently and hold others to dates without being heavy-handed

Consultants and independent project managers tend to do well here. If you are used to walking into a team, getting your bearings fast, and keeping people on schedule, that is the shape of this job.

## Nice to have

- Experience running projects for a software, data, or analytics team

- Experience with Linear or a similar project tracker

- Background in a small company or startup environment

- A project management credential of any kind

## Tools you will use

Linear, Google Workspace, and Slack.

## Terms

- Part-time to start, paid hourly

- Roughly 20 hours per week, with room to grow as the company grows

- Remote within the US. Candidates in California are not eligible.

- Hours should overlap the Mountain Time workday

- Target start is two to six weeks out

## How to apply

Send a short note about a team you kept on schedule and what you did when the schedule slipped. Tell us what tools you used to track it.
