About the Role
We are seeking a talented Product Designer / UI/UX Designer to help transform functional web applications and prototypes into polished, intuitive, and accessible digital products for faculty, staff, and students.
Working closely with solutions engineers and subject-matter experts, you’ll play a hands-on role in improving existing products and workflows, translating ideas into production-ready designs, and partnering closely with engineering throughout implementation.
The ideal candidate is a pragmatic designer who can work effectively within an existing product environment, identify high-impact opportunities, and make meaningful improvements without requiring an overly lengthy design process.
What You’ll Do

- Refine workflows, information architecture, and responsive interfaces to create intuitive user experiences.
- Create production-ready designs, prototypes, and reusable design components.
- Collaborate closely with developers throughout implementation and participate in design QA.
- Apply accessibility standards and conduct lightweight usability validation.
- Partner with solutions engineers who work with technologies including Codex, GitHub, and Cloudflare Developer Platform.
- Work directly with subject-matter experts and internal stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into effective product experiences.
- Improve and evolve existing products in a practical, iterative manner.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience designing web-based products.
- A strong UI/UX and product design portfolio demonstrating shipped digital products.
- Excellent proficiency with Figma or a similar design tool.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design, usability, and information architecture.
- Experience designing accessible digital experiences and applying accessibility standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and work within an existing technical environment.
- Experience creating production-ready designs, prototypes, and reusable components.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to product design.
- Ability to work with forward-deployed engineering teams and make meaningful product improvements without requiring a lengthy design process.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate combines strong visual and UX design skills with a practical, hands-on approach to product development. You’re comfortable working directly with engineers, iterating quickly, and making thoughtful design decisions within real-world technical constraints.
You should be someone who can look at an existing product, quickly identify opportunities for improvement, and turn those insights into polished, accessible experiences that can actually be implemented.
