Description
Role overview
Mercor is hiring experienced architecture, engineering, and construction professionals to review and strengthen complex engineering tasks set in data-center projects. This is a technical peer-review role: you will assess realistic design, permitting, and construction scenarios, repair gaps in task materials, and confirm that the expected outputs and grading methods reflect professional practice.
What you will do
-
Review long-horizon tasks involving structural and civil design, geotechnical inputs, foundations and slabs, wind and seismic analysis, rooftop equipment loads, building codes, AHJ requirements, drawing packages, BIM coordination, and constructability
-
Check engineering assumptions, calculations, governing criteria, code interpretation, document precedence, and coordination across disciplines
-
Identify ambiguity, conflicting source documents, missing constraints, or unrealistic deliverables
-
Improve task prompts, supporting artifacts, acceptance criteria, rubrics, and programmatic checks
-
Produce clear technical findings and validate corrected tasks end to end
Who we are looking for
-
Typically 2+ years of experience on data centers, mission-critical facilities, or comparably complex building and infrastructure projects
-
Relevant roles include Senior Structural Engineer, Civil or Site Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, Code Consultant, Engineer of Record, Design Manager, Project Architect, BIM or VDC Manager, or Construction Engineer
-
Strong command of applicable U.S. building codes and engineering standards; PE, SE, or RA credentials are preferred where relevant
-
Experience at a leading multidisciplinary AEC, design, or consulting engineering firm is strongly preferred
-
Able to interpret large document sets, calculations, specifications, drawings, models, schedules, and technical registers
-
Precise, detail-oriented, and able to explain technical issues clearly in writing
