About the Role

Mercor is hiring experienced Mechanical Engineers to help evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI systems. In this role, you'll evaluate AI-generated mechanical engineering content and workflows, leveraging your real-world expertise in designing tools, machines, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate AI-generated mechanical designs, technical drawings, system specifications, and other engineering artifacts for quality and accuracy.
Compare AI-generated responses head-to-head based on engineering rigor, design soundness, and specification precision.
Review mechanical engineering scenarios involving equipment design, system troubleshooting, and specification compliance and provide expert feedback.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Project Engineer, Test Engineer, or another closely related mechanical engineering role.
Experience designing, evaluating, or maintaining mechanical products, equipment, or systems, including interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.
Strong written English communication skills.

Start date: Immediate
Duration: Approximately 4–6 weeks
Payment: task-based (payment upon first task approval). Experts who complete their first task within the required timeline will then be qualified to be paid hourly for the remainder of the project.
