Description

About the role

TRM Labs is looking for a Senior Growth Marketing Manager, Talent Brand to help build and execute a talent brand distribution engine from scratch.

This is a full-time contract role intended to provide immediate senior marketing execution and ownership while TRM scales through a high-growth period.

This is not a traditional employer brand role or a narrow paid media role. TRM is looking for a senior, high-ownership growth marketer who can build and execute a talent brand distribution engine from scratch — across paid, organic, earned, events, podcasts, founder visibility, and content amplification.

You’ll help make sure the world’s best builders, engineers, AI researchers, and mission-driven operators discover TRM by turning strong internal ideas, founder perspectives, events, announcements, and content into high-impact distribution across the right channels.

This is a hands-on execution role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can build from zero, and is comfortable flexing across a wide range of marketing needs. The right person has strong growth instincts, good editorial judgment, startup speed, and the ability to turn strong ideas and content into market visibility.

**Please note:

  • This is an immediate need. Candidates should be available to interview right away and start shortly after selection.
  • This is a full-time contract role, with an expected workload of 40 hours per week.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain meaningful overlap with U.S. time zones while collaborating with globally distributed teams.
  • This contract role has the potential to convert to a full-time position based on performance, fit, business needs, and alignment with TRM’s mission.

What you’ll do

  • Build and execute TRM’s talent brand growth and distribution engine across paid, organic, earned, and owned channels.
  • Amplify TRM’s talent brand campaigns across LinkedIn, podcasts, newsletters, events, conferences, founder channels, media opportunities, and relevant technical / startup communities.
  • Turn internal ideas, founder perspectives, announcements, events, and existing content into multiple formats, including social posts, campaign copy, video scripts, newsletter blurbs, ad copy, event follow-ups, and outreach collateral.
  • Help pitch TRM founders and leaders for relevant podcasts, media opportunities, newsletters, speaking opportunities, and industry conversations.
  • Support event-related marketing and amplification, including pre-event promotion, content capture, post-event repackaging, and social distribution.
  • Partner with People and Marketing to reach high-priority candidate audiences, including elite engineers, AI researchers, technical leaders, and mission-driven operators.
  • Use paid and organic channels to increase talent brand reach, career page traffic, candidate quality, and recruiting outreach response rates.
  • Help coordinate campaign execution across internal content, PR, growth, People, founder, and external partner resources.
  • Identify and coordinate with external vendors, freelancers, creators, or creative partners when needed to get work shipped.
  • Use AI tools heavily to increase speed, output, quality, and creative range.

What we’re looking for

  • 7+ years of experience in growth marketing, startup marketing, product marketing, content distribution, or a related marketing generalist role.
  • Experience building marketing programs, campaigns, or content / distribution engines from scratch.
  • Strong growth marketing instincts across paid, organic, earned, and owned channels.
  • Hands-on experience with content amplification, audience targeting, campaign execution, and distribution strategy.
  • Experience reaching technical, senior, or hard-to-access audiences through targeted campaigns, content distribution, community channels, events, founder-led marketing, or similar channels.
  • Strong writing and editorial judgment — you do not need to be a pure writer, but you should know how to shape, package, improve, and repurpose content for different audiences and channels.
  • Experience repurposing content across formats and channels to maximize reach and impact.
  • Comfort supporting podcast pitching, media outreach, newsletter sponsorships, conference / event amplification, and social distribution.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong AI fluency — you use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Descript, Canva AI, Midjourney, or similar tools to materially increase your output and effectiveness.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to connect marketing activity to measurable outcomes such as audience growth, candidate engagement, inbound quality, career page traffic, and response rates.
  • Ability to collaborate across Marketing, People, R&D, Founders, and external partners without needing heavy hand-holding.

Strong-fit backgrounds may include

  • Former Head of Marketing or early marketing hire at a seed, Series A, or high-growth startup.
  • Senior growth marketer or marketing generalist who has owned broad, messy, cross-functional campaigns.
  • Product marketing + growth hybrid with strong content and audience instincts.
  • Content distribution / amplification marketer with real execution depth.
  • Startup marketer who has worked closely with founders and technical teams.
  • Marketer with experience reaching technical, founder-led, or hard-to-access audiences.
  • Mission-driven, cybersecurity, fintech, AI, devtools, data, or technical B2B experience is a plus, but not required.

This may not be the right fit if you

  • Prefer a narrow, clearly scoped marketing role.
  • Are only interested in strategy and not hands-on execution.
  • Have primarily worked in traditional employer brand roles focused on job descriptions, career site updates, or light content refinement.
  • Are a pure content writer without growth / distribution experience.
  • Are a pure paid media or ABM specialist who does not want to flex into podcasts, events, founder visibility, content repurposing, or broader campaign execution.
  • Need a mature playbook before you can start creating momentum.

What success looks like

In this role, success means helping TRM turn strong ideas, founder perspectives, company momentum, events, announcements, and mission-driven storytelling into a visible, measurable talent brand growth engine.

You will help TRM:

  • Increase reach among high-priority candidate audiences.
  • Improve content distribution and campaign velocity.
  • Expand founder and company visibility across relevant channels.
  • Drive stronger engagement with elite technical and mission-driven talent.
  • Support recruiting pipeline impact through better awareness, amplification, and audience targeting.
  • Help TRM get more value from each content piece, event, announcement, and founder perspective by packaging and distributing it effectively.

Working style

TRM is fast-moving, high-ownership, AI-forward, and highly collaborative. The right person will be comfortable building from scratch, using AI aggressively, working async, and partnering across functions to get work shipped quickly.

This role is ideal for someone who brings senior marketing judgment, scrappy execution, strong taste, and the ability to turn ambiguity into momentum.
